COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brown Angel comes at you with three levels. At the heart the beer is layer upon layer of pure, delicious malt. Columbus and Amarillo hops add an intense hop presence while a final layer of East Kent Goldings delivers a delicate floral finish. This is NOT your old school brown, but a rather sexy American interpretation.

I want to like this beer, but it never quite comes together, despite the sum of its parts. The texture is largely to blame, since the beer never quite feels as big or hearty as you want, not letting the massive amounts of malts and hops settle. The bitterness is there, but there’s an unfortunate home brew quality that shows through on the finish. Nice label though.

Solid brown ale. Poured from a bomber, with a deep brown color. Not too complex and very sharp at the finish.

Grifo. Vaso de Pinta. Saboreada en jun´12. Color marrón rojizo y tintes rubí a contraluz. Apariencia cristalina. Espuma beige y copiosa, corona persistente y anillos algodonosos. En nariz maltas tostadas, cacao amargo y toque herbáceo. Entrada fresca y malteada. Refrescante y sabrosa. On-tap. Pint glass. Enjoyed on jun´12. Reddish brown color, ruby to the light. Clear appearance. Beige, copious froth, lasting crown & rocky rings. Toasted malts, bitter cocoa & herbal touch to the nose. Crispy & malty upfront. Hints of chocolate & dark fruits in the middle. Subtle citric hues. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation. Creamy & silky palate –underlying bitter river. Long bitter chocolate finish & roasted coffee grain aftertaste. Refreshing & flavorful.

On draft at Diesel in Atlanta. Darker and thicker than I would have expected. Semisweet maltiness. Filling and satisfying.

08-JUN-2012, draft @Bishops Arms. Brown, hazy, lasting lacing tan head. Roasted with chocolate and hops. Quite bitter and earthy hops. Creamy and really nice brown ale in an American style. Though normally not my style, I like this.

Bomber from Finger Lakes Beverage(?), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Very deep brown (black?) with a fair light mocha head. Aroma: Lots of strong, rich roasted malts, sorta fruity, chocolate all over the place, some molasses and hints of soy sauce, borders on an Impy Stout in some ways, a bit of licorice, big and rich. Palate: Medium+ body, fairly relaxed effervescence, a bit powdery/astringent. Flav.: Really big, rich roasted flavour, molasses, chocolate, a bit of coffee, borderline briny (Impy Stout territory), a touch fruity, quite big and inky; dry with fair bitterness and a long, chocolatey finish.

Angelic indeed.

650ml bottle. There’s a big deep fluffy white head of latte coloured foam atop a dark tea coloured beer. Big chocolate and roasted malt aromas are very nice as is the flavour with a mild bitterness and bitter dark chocolate flavours.

En arôme, les houblons fruités prennent une place surprenante, oranges, abricots et fleurs contenu par un mur de torréfaction. En bouche c’est moyen avec un fini très floral pour accompagner le caramel et sucres denses.
