Brown Angel comes at you with three levels. At the heart the beer is layer upon layer of pure, delicious malt. Columbus and Amarillo hops add an intense hop presence while a final layer of East Kent Goldings delivers a delicate floral finish. This is NOT your old school brown, but a rather sexy American interpretation.

Bomber pours chocolate brown with amber edges and tan head. The aroma offers up roasted malts, a bit of spicy hops, a touch of earthy chocolate malts and a faint sensation of burnt maltiness. The taste is rich dark roasted malts and spicy hops to start and then it grows into more burnt malts and more biter resiny hops. At the edges I get thin ribbons of dark roasted coffee and chocolate malts. Tasty stuff indeed.

bottle, dark brown with creamy tan foam, aroma is faint sweet brown sugar, flavor is a little overly bitter but roast and caramel make up for it , nice silky finish

Poured from a 22 to a pint glass, it pours a deep brown with thick tan creamy head. Aroma is nutty and sweet, with a roasty nutty chocolate flavor. Not generally a fan of brown ales, this is very creamy, smooth and an easy drink. Taste is smoky, somewhat burnt nutty, malty flavor that is very smooth. One of the better brown ales I have tried to date.

Deep brown with a moderate, lacing, beige head. Aroma of nuts, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt, and light pine hops. The taste is roasted and chocolatey; malty with a mild bitterness. Medium bodied and a little creamy feeling with smooth carbonation and a mild dryness. Nice brown.

Bottle from kegs and barrels. Pours a deep ruby red slightly brown with a medium tan head. The aromas are plumb, yeast. The mouthfeel is slightly dry and bready with a medium body. This was a very nice brown ale. Cheers!

Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocoalte and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.

This is pretty good too. Lots of sweetness, but tasty enough. Certainly good packaging. Make me drink more brown ales.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with light tan head. Aroma of faint chocolate, extremely faint brown sugar, nut,and light toast with a tad of burnt caramel with earthy hop presence. Flavor is much the same with a earthy hoppy bitter in the finish, fairly dry. Mouthfeel is medium-heavy body with high carbonation. Overall, I am glad it wasn’t expensive.

Pours dark brown with a tall, chunky tan head that has great retention. Aroma is toasted nuts, sweet malt, brown sugar, a touch of sweet caramel and floral, herbal hops. Flavor is brown sugar, toasted nuts, toasted butter, sweet, crusty, white bread, a touch of roast, light chocolate and herbal, citrus and grassy hops. Palate is medium bodied, dry throughout and (a little too) highly carbonated. Pretty tasty brown ale, though a little high on the boozy burn and a bit to dry, I’m guessing lots of brown sugar was used.
