COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brown Angel comes at you with three levels. At the heart the beer is layer upon layer of pure, delicious malt. Columbus and Amarillo hops add an intense hop presence while a final layer of East Kent Goldings delivers a delicate floral finish. This is NOT your old school brown, but a rather sexy American interpretation.

Dark reddish-brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste is caramel. Nice balance but nothing sticks out.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Giant Leesburg. It pours a deep brown with a huge foamy tan head. Overcarbonated it seems. The nose has a slight nuttiness with some sweet malt notes, a bit of herbals, and slight glue note. Very bitter and slightly metallic on the tongue. There are lots of herbal hops, but less from the malt side. Some nuttiness. And that glue note comes back as well. Light to medium body with too much carbonation and a long, bitter finish. This one is drinkable but out of balance and not one I will be going back to.

This rating is dedicated to Candice Alstrom, who really needs to re-evaluate who she is as a person. Served on cask at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA, on 6/13/11. Pours a hazy brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus, dark malts and earthy, citrus hops. The taste is citrus hops, chocolate and some roastiness. Medium bodied.

Bottle poured into glass. Dark brown color with a thin head. Pretty much like your standard brown ale: malty, slightly sweet with roasted nutty notes. I liked it but it didn’t blow me away.

Nice solid, flavorful brown ale filled with cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, roasted almonds, and hint of coffee bean. Dark malt, honey sweetness, and chocolate notes float above a chestnut body topped with a cashew head. Pretty good.

Dark brown with large tan head. Aroma roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. Medium body, no alcohol. Flavor also roasted malt and hint of coffee, nuts, a little hops in the background but those are mostly hidden. Quite decent.
