Espresso, malty notes. Chocolatey. Thin head. Simple. Passable but nothing more than that. Drink one then move on to the next one.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a superb brown ale. Very hoppy for a brown, with a rich nutty, caramelly sweet flavor. Deep woody brown appearance.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of the best brown ales I’ve ever had. I get tonnes of roasted pecans and butteriness in the aroma and flavour. Smooth and delicious. So good.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
22oz bottle split with Anndiesel. Really nice appearance; burgundy-brown, unfiltered body. Creamy, steady beige head. There is a sourness underneath this that screams infection to me. The oily, thick specialty malts tone it down, sort of balancing it out, but this is a basic brewing flaw, and that pretty much sucks when you bought it for 7 dollars a bomber. As it is, oily caramel and brown chocolate covered tart red berries. Was hoping for a nice, big Brown Ale....this didn’t deliver.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Dark brown with large tan head. Extremely carbonated (infection?). Aroma of toasted malts and floral hops. Medium body with hop bitterness upfront, some caramel notes, and a slight malt sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear brown with fine tan head, settles quickly with some thin lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, with significant hops. Flavor is roasted malt up front, chocolate, fading into a resinous hop finish, mild chocolate, roast finish. Slightly roasted, mildly hoppy aftertaste. Hoppier than I had expected, but not overpowering. Soft to moderate carbonation, medium body, mildly smooth texture, and oily finish. A pleasant, mildly roasted and hoppy brown ale, tasty.
