Brown Angel comes at you with three levels. At the heart the beer is layer upon layer of pure, delicious malt. Columbus and Amarillo hops add an intense hop presence while a final layer of East Kent Goldings delivers a delicate floral finish. This is NOT your old school brown, but a rather sexy American interpretation.

Dark brown with cream head on the pour. Nutty malt aromas linger throughout. A mix of bitter and smokey nuts flavor and a clean dry light hoppy finish.

Pours a finger and half of light tan head on a brown body. The aroma is extra nutty, roasted and toasted malt and a touch of lemon. The taste is a well rounded roasted malt and chocolate flavor. Thereís some mild bitterness in the middle to balance it out. The texture is smooth and soft. It tends towards the sweeter side, but itís really good.

22oz bomber. Quite good overall, highly recommended. Pours a rich brown with a nice little white head. Aroma is very earthy, hoppy and strong! Bitter flavor, but well-rounded and pleasant on the tongue. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel - great! Iíd love to find it on tap somewhere!

19-month aged bottle. Iíve never had it fresh, but I am pretty sure the aging has changed this beer in some very interesting and wonderful ways. Itís not at all what I expected, very heavy on the funk/brett flavor, with lots of Belgian character. Fairly sour. The hops are pretty subdued. Plenty of caramel and roasted malt. Thick creamy head. Chewy, sticky palate.

Cola brown. Nice rich nuttiness, a little spice from the alcohol. Pretty tasty beer.

@ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Slightly hazy dark brown with a rocky 1" tan head, stripes of lace. Taste is full flavored malt that adds touches of coffee and chocolate as it moves through a mildly hopped palate. The finish is pleasantly chalky-bitter with coffee. Uncomplicated, easy to drink, balanced, recommended.

From a 1 pint bottle. Roasted malt aroma, deep brown colour, pleasant hops fruit flavours and malt smoothness, subtle hints of coffee and chocolate. I really like this beer, Iíd happily drink it all day.

Bombe bottle poured a hazy brown hue w/ huge tan frothy lasting head. Moderate aromas of roast, floral hop, and caramel. Initial flavor is moderate sweet w/ a light bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are roasted malts, brown sugar, caramel made right up to the point before being burnt. Medium bodied and slight watery mouthfeel.

A solid brown ale. Aroma was almost winelike for some reason. Also had big malty notes. Toffee and burnt caramel. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger light tan head. Taste was big and malty at first. All the strong toffee and chocolate flavors were quickly washed away by strong bitter hops in the finish. Perfectly balanced beer that almost borders a black IPA. Nice beer.
