Clear medium orange amber color with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, wood, sugar, moderate hoppy, overripped fruit, leather notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20100522]

Bottled. A hazy dark red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruits, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry, bitter, and bready finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Pours a nutty brown with a slight haze and a dense beige head with good retention. Dusty, roasty nose, some burned caramel. Medium body, heavy roast, dark dried fruits, vanilla and a little ashes. Ends fairly bitter – roasty, malty bitter. 230711

From tap at Sunset Grill as Double Brown Angel. Pours cloudy deep amber with a small tan and creamy head. Aroma is dark roasted malty, slight breadish. Breadish flavoured, slight bitter and vague caramelish. Bitter and roasted malty finish.

Bottle at Ølbutikken. Clear orange brown coloured with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma of hops with notes of hops and roasted notes. Fruity flavour of hops, grass and dark chocolate. Dry hoppy finish.

Bottle. Thanks to Chrisv10. Pours dark brown with a large head and lacings. Dark caramel malts and fruit. Smooth and medium bodied. Decent.

(22oz bottle, courtesy of Cavie) Pours a clear amber body with a tall dense beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roastiness, caramel, nuts, and bread. Flavor of roasted malt, cocoa, grass, florals, and caramel malt with a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle at ChrisOs ’Blue Ridge Mountains Of Virginia’ tasting. Red amber colour, thin beige head. Lots of intense high alpha hops. Hops are a bit harsh. Very good hops but harsh. Not much of a brown ale. OK. Needs more sweet malt to balance it.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocoalte and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and caramel finish.
