Roasted dark malts plus extra chocolate malts plus ancho chile plus cinnamon plus organic vanilla extract plus a chocolate eating, beer drinking, Clown Shoes wearing, multi limbed, gorgeous and glorious Mexican wrestler on the label. That’s the recipe for a Chocolate Sombrero!

Did not expect to like this as I usually do not like abv at this level, but the chocolate kept a nice balance throughout. Poured well and you definitely knew it was a choco stout broom the aroma. Finished well without a heavy sweetness.

Bottle, thanks Eddan. Almost black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, milk, some light spices, also with notes of alcohol. Relatively weak body and with a light mouthfeel. Drinkable but nothing sensational. The finish was sweet.

Bomber dated 8/13/2012. Pour is a beautiful jet black with a nice tan head, plenty of lacing. Smell is a bit funky. Getting kind of a wet dog aroma, but also big notes if cinnamon, dark chocolate and chili powder. Also a bit boozy. Taste is thick and silky smooth from a texture perspective. Getting big notes of coffee, chocolate and cinnamon. Also get a hint if the chili and a bit if booze on the finish. Nice imperial stout, has obviously aged pretty well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

@ Eddan: tydliga smaker av söt choklad. Doften är lite klenare men ändå söt och trevlig fast ingen stor sak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a flat black body with a small fizzy light brown head. The nose is roasty with lots of chocolate and a light hint of chili pepper over a bit of alcohol. The chili pepper and cinnamon are pretty minimal up front, masked by the heavy chocolate and sweet caramel malt base. Some light spiciness from the chilies on the finish enhanced by a slight alcohol burn. Sweet throughout with lots of burnt caramel and bitter chocolate notes. Full bodied and rather chewy with a heavy cling to the finish, soft fizzy carbonation level. Pretty nice beer, reminds me a bit of Cigar City Hunahpu a little bit, just not quite as big.

Sampled @ Mass Brewers Fest @ Julio’s Liquors. Poured black with a creamy tan head. Sticky. Enticing milk chocolate, caramel, brown sugar aroma. All the above is represented in the flavor, but after the first couple of sips you get a warming sensation from the ancho chillies. Full bodied with a little bit of heat. Nice!.

Bottle at brum beer fest from Alesela
HAzy ruby, tinged brown, beige lacing, chocolate and kola cube, coffee on the nose. Coccoa powder, sweet, dry, chipotle, slight chili bite on finish, doesn’t taste its strength.

A nice imperial stout. Aroma was good. All chocolate. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger light tan head. Taste was a little disappointing. If I hadn’t read the commercial description and saw there was chile and cinnamon in there, I would’ve been fine. The flavors were good without those; strong chocolate and vanilla flavors made a nice sweet combination, but not cloying. Not much else going on. Not a hint of pepper or cinnamon. Nice carbonation rounds the beer out.

Bottle shared with Beersiveknown cheers Steve; black pour with a brown head, chocolate aroma, quite sweet sticky mouthfeel, chocolate taste with roasted malts, the secondary flavours only come through very weakly, the chilli dominates.
