Bottled: unk It’s black with a tan etched surface. Smells of cocoa, cinnamon, graham, some vanilla. Flavor is chocolate with a bit of vanilla, tobacco, leather some breads. It’s really a failure for its ad, but good as a stout. Medium on full bodied and a dry finish. Decent beer, but not what was adverts.

This draft brew from a restaurant poured a head of foamy dark tan colored bubbles that were very long lasting and left behind a opaque dark black brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The nice aroma was brown malt chocolate and dark malt. The sharp mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a strong vinous aftertaste. The yummy flavor contained notes of roasted malt mild medicinal cloves vinous mild spice toasted malt burnt malt chocolate brown malt crisp and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Fantastica ed intensa chicolate porter. Come tutte le Clown Shoes costa una fortuna ma ne vale la pena!

Bottle, 10C. Very dark brown with a coat of tan head. Aroma of chocolate milk on the turn, molasses, cinnamon, pickled chiles. Bit of a harsh jerrycan whiff to it - which does dissipate. Lowish carbonation, oily. Not all that sweet ’tho it creeps up, plenty of chocolate and vanilla, nice cinnamon. Surprisingly after the aroma the chile is barely there until a little pluminess and heat right at the end. A bit dull.

Bottle at Downtown Austin Super 6. Pours an opaque black with no head. Sweet with aromas of vanilla and milk chocolate. Also notes of chilli as it warms in the glass (read Super 8 paper cup). Medium bodied. Medium to soft carbonation. Dry finish with aromas of dark chocolate. Don’t drink this too cold.

330ml bottle from favourite beer, Cheltenham. Deep dark almost black colour with a fan head. Aroma has spicy dried fruit, liquorice chocolate and smoke. Taste is a touch sweet with a bitter depth.

A good imperial stout with an over bearing chocolate flavour profile. Pours a fully opaque black with a head of light beige. The aroma is heavy with roasted malts, light chocolate and a bit of spicy smells. A bit sweet up front with dark and milky chocolate flavours. Heavy robust roasted malts, vanilla, licorice and light chili flavour. Gorgeous flavour with a bit of a light body for the style and a flat finish.

(Bottle sample at tasting, VilleValla Pub, LInköping, Jan 26 2015) Pours very dark brown with a moderate tan head. Nose has chocolate, smoky chili, slightly sour cacao tones, sweet dark malt underneath, maybe a bit of cinnamon comes through. Palate has chocolate and a surprising acidity, more caramel, dark berries, spicy cinnamon and smoke, chili coming in towards the finish, roast, dark unsweetened chocolate. I am not totally sure where the acidity comes from? Fairly light bodied for style with moderate carb. Other than being a little lighter than I like an imperial stout to be, this was really good - flavours are super.

500 mL bottle. (2012 vintage, I believe). Almost black, with a thin brown head. Appealing aroma has chocolate, booze, vanilla, and a little roast. In that order. The taste is quite complex as well, with all of the above plus a hint of chili heat. No flavour from the chilis. Solid body. Nice surprise.

Appearance: Black body with a light khaki head that fades fairly quickly. Decent lacing.

Aroma: Not much aroma. There’s a light scent of chocolate milk but that’s it.

Taste: Light roasted caramel flavor along with some hints of toast. Pretty average for a stout. I don’t really get any chocolate flavor which is odd given the "chocolate sombrero" name. No alcohol flavor which is a plus for a 9% ABV beer.

Mouthfeel: It’s on the heavy side of a medium mouthfeel. Feels average.

Overall: It is an average stout, but below average for a chocolate stout. If you’re looking for a chocolate stout I would give this one a pass. If you’re looking for a higher ABV stout I would say flip a coin.
