Bottled: unk Itís black with a tan etched surface. Smells of cocoa, cinnamon, graham, some vanilla. Flavor is chocolate with a bit of vanilla, tobacco, leather some breads. Itís really a failure for its ad, but good as a stout. Medium on full bodied and a dry finish. Decent beer, but not what was adverts.

12 oz bottle poured into a snifter. Bottled 9/8/2014. Black with half a finger of light tan head that fades into a ring fairly quickly. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasty notes, vanilla extract. Tastes of dark chocolate, vanilla, roasty notes, a little dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish.

Pours black with a very thin light brown head. Has a chocolate and dark fruity malt aroma. Taste is a mix of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits (prunes) and some spices. A lingering dark fruit malt aftertaste - not what I expected for this imperial stout.

Bottled on 09/18/2014. Nose is very sweet and sugary, strong chocolate and medium dark roast, some nice red fruity notes, hint of vanilla, touch earthy/vegetal chili. Dark brown pour with a very short, dense light brown head. Taste is strongly sweet but not overwhelming, light bitterness and touches of caramel and yeast, decent maltiness, lightly sticky lips. Slow warmth from masterfully-contained booze and light chilli (which does hit the chest quite a bit at first). Vanilla is medium-heavy and excellently rounds out the flavor without any of the typically dirty vanilla notes (I guess extract is still the way to go), no cinnamon but there is a nice ripe red berry and slight cherry accent in the bg. Full body, heavy and lightly crisp, velvety-smooth; a true dessert beer and a good one at that!

Oh theres chocolate in this one, donít worry. Tons of coffee, chocolate and a nice roastiness. Smells insane. Taste is more of a dark chocolate with some coffee and a hint of vanilla. Really silky smooth. Overall an awesome stout, I would highly recommend. Cheers.

Pours a dark brown with khaki colored head. Spice, chocolate, and roasted malt on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with spice and sweetness.

Bottle bought in Redstone Liquor Store, Stoneham (MA). Aged more than a year. Pours a deep dark red with no head nor lacing. Aroma features an interesting mix of chocolate, pepper, roasted malt, hops, alcohol, cinnamon, liquorice and vanilla. Taste is mostly about chocolate, coffee, and vanilla. Good balance. Full bodied. Not too heavy considering the high ABV.

Bottle. Thanks to ModeEngage! Clear dark reddish brown with a small tan head that lasts in a ring. Aromas of mostly a musty, vegetal note with roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and light chili pepper behind it. Flavor is roasty at first with malt and coffee, dark chocolate, cinnamon and light vanilla follow. Not much of a spicy kick to it but enough to be interesting. Medium bodied, smooth with a roasty, slightly dry end.

12 oz bottle from Gs new squeeze.... Dark pour in to a snifter, good lacing left on the glass. Small head that fades fast. Nose of some chili peppers, chocolate, ash and tons of roasted malts. Taste is very dry/ashy imperial stout. Small amount of chilis present, lots of roasted malts, chocolate. Overall....Solid brewski....

Their beers typically do not disappoint. Nice chocolate and roasted aroma with a hint of spice. Dark chocolate color with a minimal head. Full and creamy palate. Chocolate and chili with a touch of cinnamon. Nice dessert.

Winter Beer Fest, Philly: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is chilies, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is pepper and chocolate and pretzel (yum pretzel). Each flavor is powerful and unapologetic. Quite heavy. Not very sweet. Complex. I liked this quite a bit.
