The aroma is definitely dominated by the chile, not the chocolate. The flavor has both. And itís a pretty even battle. Yet, for once, I think I like the chile. The chocolate is very smooth, itís the chile that provides th e graininess.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle in Vail with my dad. Pour is pitch black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Sweet vanilla, lightly spicy - nutmeg & cinnamon - dark fruity, roasty, chocolatey, green peppers, and espresso in the aroma. Taste is smooth and spicy chocolate with a cayenne kick - with lighter notes of sweet vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, roasted malt, black licorice, dark cocoa, espresso, and earthy hops with a lightly spicy finish. Syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Really well-balanced and easy drinking stout; no signs I alcohol.

pitch black, with a bit of creamy, fast dissipating khaki head. Definitely getting cinnamon on the nose, with some dark chocolate. Flavor is big cocoa, dark chocolate and cinnamon. Finishing heat, from probably both the cinnamon and anchos. The vanilla is a nice balancing touch.
