Clementine is beer conceived in a dream, in the middle of a blistering beatdown of a day. We used Clementine, sweet orange peel, coriander, and summit hops to smack that mean day upside the head with a refreshing clown shoe.

I remember thinking this was a tasty beer though it is buried under a big day of tasting at the 2012 Lansdale Beer Festival.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with visible carbonation bubbling up and a 2.5 finger frothy, pillowy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Slightly earthy aroma with zesty spice, citrus fruit and bready yeast notes. Hints of pepper and coriander followed by tangerine, orange peel and lemon zest. As it warns, the bread character really stands out and the citrus fades a bit. Medium bodied and very heavily carbonated with a strong peppery spice presence that lingers over the citrus and yeast notes into a dry finish. There’s a very strong coriander flavor that dominates, slightly overpowering the citrus peel and bread notes. Peppery with subtle orange and tangerine notes. Tart, dry finish. Not bad, but the overpowering coriander makes this beer a bit one-note. Needs some more citrus sweetness to balance things out.

Appearance: opaque pale gold with one finger of dense white head, excellent retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: orange peel, wheat, coriander. (7/10) Taste: medium sweet, mild bitter, mild peppery spice, light tart. (7/10) Palate: light body, moderate carbonation, dry peppery finish. (4/5) Well, I was a little perturbed when this “white ale” poured crystal clear - in other words, it’d been shelved long enough that all the fines settled out. But, I swirled around the last little bit and poured it in, turning it white. And, y’know, not bad at all: nicely balanced between the Clementine sweetness, and the citrus peel and hop bitterness. Spiciness builds but never becomes overwhelming. A summery beer, but the orange peel and spice could also go well with your midwinter celebration of choice, too. (15/20)

Rating #1248 - 10.09.2014 - Bottle from CBI. Hazy yellow pour with a decent white head. Aroma is orange, ginger, and coriander. Taste is citrus and wheat, with a yeasty kick on an otherwise smooth finish. Not as flashy or impressive as some of the other Clown Shoes offerings, but a delicious witbier.

Tap at Yardhouse in a pint glass on a football Sunday. Golden with hints of orange and a healthy half finger white head. Cloudy. Aroma is mostly citrus orange with some floral hints. Taste is also citrus forward with a wheaty undertone. Good sweetness. Light and refreshing. Hides the alcohol well. Seems like a really good summer option my darling.

A 12 fl oz bottle with a bottled on date of 2nd January 2015 and poured into a pint glass. The beer poured a hazy orangey amber colour with a just over one finger white head that dissipated quite quickly leaving a very thin foamy layer. Strong citrus and sweet orange in the smell with hints of coriander and grass. Taste was definitely very orangey with citrus orange, orange peel and mandarin shining through. Hints of coriander and pine then a slight spicy but peppery finish. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Overall, a good witbier that I would probably buy again. Admittedly I was iffy when I smelt the strong orange aromas, as I did not enjoy the other really orangey witbier that I’ve tried. But this was much better and restored my confidence somewhat on orange flavoured beers.

Light crisp taste. Kind of bubbly. Good summer time, pool drinking kind of beer.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated semi-opaque dark golden orange colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mild hoppy aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of semi-sweet mild lager wood breads hops and malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

Pours light orange with a half finger white head with just a little lacing. Aroma is of clemuntine orange, wheat bread, and tropical fruits. Taste is about the same as the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, semi bitter, medium finish.
