Citrusy aroma with some caramel in the background. Caramel is dominating the flavour with some american hops in the background. The finish is balanced between the bitternress and the sweetness.

Draft at Good Dog. Very hazy brown pour that starts with a good foamy beige head. Lace. Big caramel bread flavors (bigger than I have ever had!) Bittersweet Pumpernickel. Honey whole wheat. Aroma is lacking. Palate is thick but not deep. ABV is well hidden. Some black pepper spice in the finish. Rich but blunt. Good but not complex. Still a noteworthy achievement.

Rich caramel brown. Foamy deep tan head. Aroma is citrusy hops that overshadow the malt. Flavor has a strong caramel backbone and is very smooth. Finish is a little bitter. Warms afterwards.

Minimal aroma of caramel maltiness. Dark amber color, minimal beige foam, which dissipates quickly. Taste is sweet, caramel, bread, and toast. Finishes with a nice hop bitterness. Full bodied, slightly oily, very soft carbonation. Overall much better than I was expecting, given my experiences with other barley wines.

Bottle shared at the DSH tasting thanks to sic1314. Pours hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, overripe fruit, light grapefruit, toffee and booze. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Poured hazy orange amber with minimal head. Aroma of heavy citrus and caramel malt. Full body, flavour as the aroma, could do with barrelling.

650ml brown bottle. Hazy golden brown pour with a well formed thick tan cap. The nose has caramel malts, brown sugar and a touch of piney hops. Taste has caramel and toffee sweet malts, touch of fruitiness, citrus hops. Bitter finish, resin, citrus and some alcohol. took some time for me to warm up to this one but it turned out alright.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served, showing some clarity & brightness to the orangey amber color, with a modest layer of off white head foam, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose had that typical, American, Barleywine scent to it, with some citrus, dried fruit, a little zest & light spiciness, and caramelly/malty sweetness. Medium+ body, with soft carbonation, the taste was similar notes, with moderate hop bitterness worked into the fray, present, but fairly disguised alcohol that warmed a bit toward the finish, and a light, syrupy sweetness that lingered on the tongue. A decent Barleywine that I probably would have liked to cellar, if I were psychic, and had bought the bombered version.

Pours a dark orange with a white head. The beer smells great. Notes of caramel, toffee, some hops. Taste is pretty bland though. Some caramel, and dark fruit, but pretty non descript. Slight hop. Kinda just blah
