Eagle Claw Fist utilizes the same Chico yeast that shaped Hoppy Feet and Brown Angel. Canadian Two Row, English Crystal, and a little English Black Patent malt provide a sweet, balanced backbone. Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra work together to create a unique hop assault, with an intense bitterness that manages to leave your palate in one piece and is harmonized by the flavors of tropical fruits and flowers. The finish is dry.

Bottle. Aroma is malty, pine and maybe bit of citrus. Amber, crystal clear. Head is nice, thick and solid and lasts long, leaves nice lacing. Medium sweet, pleasant taste. Light bodied, bitter finish. Bottle says it’s over 100 IBU, but I’d say it’s somewhere around 60, maybe even less. Soft carbonation.

Borostyán színű teste és vastag, fehér habja mögött édes, szirupos trópusi gyümölcsök illata húzódik meg, ananász-, mangó-, grapefruit koktél gyantával meglocsolt aromái szállnak fel komótosan. Masszív, karamellás maláta testén a felsorolt gyümölcsök és fenyő szolgálnak díszítőelemként, mogyorós, kekszes teltség, majd virágos-komlós zárás szolgál tökéletes ballasztként a remekül kiegyensúlyozott ízvilágban.

Sampled at Rapids Liquor tasting. Dusty, peppery, malty aroma. Taste is not good in the beginning, transitioning to a cracker malt finish.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance has a hazy amber body that leaves a one finger white foamy head and lasts for a minute. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen. Some spotty lacing coats the sides of the glass. The smell has some citrus, pine and hops up front combined very nicely. The taste brings back the hops over top of the citrus and pine. On the palate, it sits about a light to medium with nothing harsh on the tongue, sessionable. Overall, this is a great beer that I would no doubt have again. Thought it seems close to an IPA (smell and taste), it still is something worth seeking out.

75cl bottle @ The 2nd Shrewsbury Bottle Share, courtesy of Paulo. Very hoppy from the off with a eager bitterness squeezing the life out of those tropical hops. Its tongue numbing dryness gets a bit much though and I would’ve welcomed a bit more fruitiness. Still, a good introduction to this brewer for me.
