3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I enjoyed this one a lot. Reminded me a little of 5am saint...not quite as hoppy but similar character. Brown with a nice hop kick and clean finish. Refreshing and not overpowering or sweet given the alcohol.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Premiere Gourmet. Pours amber body with enormous lasting tan head. Initially, malty aroma, also some faint hops. Mostly a well malted melange of hops. Good balance, though very roasted to burnt malt as well.Good drinkability and above average mouthfeel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Without a doubt, my favorite of the Clown Shoes offerings thus far. Dark crimson, garnet, and ruby all visible in the glass depending onthe light. Aroma does pinch you in the face a bit with pungent grapefruit pith, lemon zest, orange peel, and other oily citrus notes accompanied by Ponderosa and a bit of Douglas Fir. Nice malty backbone with caramel, toffee, honey, and tropical candied fruit. Pretty good!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
If your a hop head, you will love this! Strong oily resiny hop nose. In your face hop flavors and bitterness of pine and citrus. A mild smooth and weak background of clean malt flavors. Dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber, packed on 06/15/2011 and consumed fresh within the month. The body is a clear, dark, rusty reddish-copper color. A moderately sized head of dense, beige colored froth settles as a thin but lasting blanket, leaving thick, patchy rings all over the glass. The nose is loaded with sharp, dusty, pithy grapefruit and oozing, resinous pine hops. Beneath, notes of heavily caramelized, darkly toasted bread and toffee do their best to keep up. Flavors follow suit, initially intensely bitter and loaded with biting grapefruit and pine, then moving into a toasty, toffee laced malt finish. The palate is medium-full and fairly sticky with sugars, drying out with alcohol only slightly at the tail end. Itís a decent Łber-hopped amber, overall. Predictably, the gravity is a bit much for my liking.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured a slightly hazy, deep amber with an off-white head that quickly dissapated and left some lacing. nice citric nose and then a heavy hoppiness with a bitter finish. Good beer, but I the finish was a bit strong for my taste.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bomber received in a recent trade with mkabull. Thanks a lot Alec!
Pours a deep dark copper/chestnut brown color with a one finger frothy light beige head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lacing left behind.
Slightly floral aroma with hints of earthy pine but surprisingly the nose is dominated by the sweet malt notes. I was expecting more of a resinous, citrus hop presence but thereís only some earthy pine and subtle spicy hops. The nose is very malt forward with lots of caramel, toffee and rye.
Full bodied with more of a hop forward presence than the aroma suggested but still with a strong malt character. Thereís a nice bitter, earthy hop presence up front with hints of pine and grapefruit that gives off a nice amount of bitterness that lingers throughout. This is countered mid-palate by a strong sweet malt presence. Hints of toffee, biscuit, chocolate, rye and caramel. A bit too malty for my liking with a dry finish.
Overall this is a decent hoppy beer but the malt backbone is way too strong and takes away from the hop flavor a bit too much. The ABV is well masked and itís easy to drink but in my opinion itís too "balanced" for itís own good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured into a pint glass.
4.5 A: Heavily hazed deep amber/light brown color. Two fingers of creamy beige head with good retention and a lot of lacing.
4.0 S: This is hoppy! Mixture of citrusy, piney, and floral hops. Orange, mango, grapefruit, and a bouquet of flowers are the strongest. Despite the big hit of hops, malts are easy to pick out as well. Lots of caramel and toffee especially. The yeastiness is also in ample quantities. Iím not sure if it is coming from the yeast, but Iím picking up a faint "industrial" aroma, but it isnít as bad as it sounds.
3.5 T: Taste mirrors the nose. Grapefruit, pine, orange are strongest hop flavors with a light herbalness and general citrus underneath. Moderate to heavy bitterness. Lots of caramel malts and some toffee. The yeastiness combines with the malts to give a healthy breadiness. Lot of good stuff going on here, but Iíd prefer that this be a bit cleaner.
4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Good creaminess as well.
3.5 D: Good beer for what it is, but Iím not a big fan of hoppy beers that have strong bready flavors. Filter this and I think Iíd love it.
