Fatehunter (2213) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - FEB 2, 2014
Pours two and half fingers of head on a hazy darker straw colored body. The aroma is lots of mango and papaya with grapefruit in the background. The taste starts with a dry bitterness, mild honey sweetness, then super bitter pine, some tropical fruit to mellow it a bit and finishes on a mild bitter note. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Big bitter, but with a variety of flavors.

Light amber copper colour with an off white fine poring head. Aromas of bread, hay, dank grass, pine and some tropical fruit develops. Fine carbonation, slick, full bodied. Light caramel-toast sweetness up front surpassed by bold resinous hop bitterness. Lasting finish.

Bottle at The Blind Tiger, Shrewsbury, Friday 26th August 2016 Clear gold with a nice sparkle and a nice white head. Fruity nose, juicy in the mouth, a much more swiggable beer than my Clown Shoes Galactica. Tropical in mouth and on the nose. Really nice. A8 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle - Pours a medium amber, creamy head, good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine. Big hops flavor (citrus, pine)... honestly like any other good quality IPA I’ve ever tasted, no different. Good and tasty, I liked it. But nothing outstanding.

Decent IPA - not terribly fresh or old. Moderate bitterness. Spicy earthy and grapefruit forward nose and flavor. Good enough, but doesn’t stand out in a crowd.

kingaugusta (224) - Georgia, USA - AUG 3, 2016
Pours hazy gold with a quick white head. Nose is citrus and ffloral with a decent amount of sweetness. Flavor moves from spiced tangerine to a slightly herbal and fairly bitter hop driven backside. Carbonation plays more here than most IPAs. The finish is surprisingly fast and a little sticky. Decent but not necessarily remarkable.

Amber pour, slight head that disappeared quickly, lots of lacing, average, but well balanced taste. Good, not terribly memorable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

GoufCustom (1572) - HONG KONG - JUL 30, 2016

355 ml bottle bought at YATA in MOKO, Mong Kok.

Looks: Translucent amber colour with a thin ring of dirt like yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with near zero carbonation.

Aroma: Full Ale malt, with pretty muted light passions fruits, citrus peels, strong resins, light pine, floral, honey, molasses, yeast and light grass.

Taste: Strong sweet full Ale malt, with strong grapefruits, caramel, floral, strong syrup, pine, strong resins, spices, dry biscuits, yeast, strong lime, very strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Full body. Oily and oozy palate.

Mouth Feel: Rich Ale maltyness in a sluggish background. Strong grapefruit essence sets the tone with caramel, floral very strong resins, pine and spice. Sweetness is quite syrupy and cloying. Strong lime to round. Boring.

Hoppiness: Light passions fruits, citrus peels, strong resins, light pine, floral, honey and light grass in nose. Strong grapefruits, floral, pine, strong resins, spices, strong lime and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet bitter finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Oily and very bitter to mouth.

Comments: After the excellent Hoppy Feet Black IPA, this one starts well with good looks, but then disappoints with underwhelming fruit aroma, sluggish body, syrupy sweetness, monotone hoppiness and bitterness couldn’t harmonize the taste. Drinkable whammy but refined it is not.

jsporrer (628) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2016
Pours a hazy deep medium amber with an off white head. Sweet syrupy candy corn aroma. Fairly thick body with some lacing and sediment. Smooth and syrupy with a semi sweet malty taste. Not much of a hop bite. Full mouth feel with lingering flavors. Smooth finish. Very similar taste to other Clown Shoes IPAs and Barley Wine. Pretty enjoyable.
