Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Pours a dark brown almost black with a small tan head. Smells of nuts and malt and tastes of pecan and chocolate. Well done ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Pour is dark with a light tan head, much like a stout. Smell is brown sugar, spice, chocolate and coffee. Taste is chocolate, caramel, a touch of coffee, good sweetness from the brown sugar. Would never know it had pecans in it as I can't taste them. There is an interesting spice note that I can't quite detect. Decent porter but not being able to detect the main ingredient is frustrating. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is no joke; this is a really nice treat--almost like a dessert beer. This is a malty treat with just enough of the pecan goodness in the background.

Slight roasted nose along with mellow chocolate notes. More mellow than expected, pecan hard to pick up for me. Overall drink ability was nice

On tap at Yard House Houston. It pours a dense, finger thick tan head over a more or less black body. Itís quite roasted on the nose, with a solid shot of licorice. Dark chocolate too. Itís pleasantly carbonated, medium to full bodied on the palate, and quite dry even though thereís sweetness going on in the flavor. Roasted malts, some dark chocolate and bitterness, and quite a lot of salty licorice, as well as some nuts. Lasting finish with roasted malts and safety licorice. Some sweetness too, but itís bitter enough to prevent it from even getting close to cloying. Sure a nice one. Especially like the licorice, but hoped for more nuts. 131111

Great pecan flavors, sweetness and good roastyness from porter, I like this one a lot

Albany, Ga - Warehouse Package Store - 22 oz bomber. Pitch black pour sticky khaki colored head that leaves a nice film of lacing. Aroma has some peanut-like accents, some earthy potting soil. Flavor is pleasant with some light chocolate notes, some peanut butter accents, a touch of potting soul. Mouthfeel is smooth, could be a tad thicker. Pretty solid.
