COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

650 ml bottle. Near black with mocca head. Aroma roasted, a bit burnt, light nuts and some earthy notes. Taste is rich, medium sweet, roasted, nutty, fruity and earthy. Complex and nice

22 ounce bottle poured a dark brown color, almost black, aromas of light chocolate, pecans, caramel, and some light brown sugar. Flavors are the same, blended nicely. This was a real enjoyable beer.

22oz bottle in an English pint. Pours very dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, dark sugar and pecans, and light hops with hints of smokiness. Flavor about the same, with a nice blend of everything and no overly artificial flavors. Average texture. An interesting porter.

Not sure where I bought this, probably at a danish bottle stop. Smell of chocolate, flowers and dark malts, fudge and caramel. Similar taste, roasted and toasted with some coffee notes. There is a chemical note that is a bit disturbing.

22oz bottle courtesy of radarsock. Cheers, Ander! Pours a hazy porter brown with a tan head. Nose is roasted pecans, some light nuttiness, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Flavor follows with roasted malt, some light nuttiness that almost comes off as peanuts, some earthy hops, and some dryness toward the finish. Interesting porter overall; medium to full in body and nutty.

Draft at Barcade. Super dark brown pour with light head, very nice lacing sheets. Notes of caramel malts, light roast, milk chocolate, light hops, and coffee. Not much pecan pie in this one for me. Medium body. Just ok.

Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with thin, fizzy beige head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is roasted and caramel malts, pecans, chocolate, figs, raisins, light earthy and floral hops. Flavor is roast malts forward with supporting dark chocolate, toffee, earthy hops, some dark fruit esters, and light smoke; dry, ashy finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Bottle. The look is dark, brown to black in color, and beige colored head. The smell is roasty, malts, pecan, richness, and sugar. The taste is sweet, roast, malts, sugary, brown sugar, and ok.

Smoky aroma has notes of caramel, malt - and yes, pecan. Pours a rich, warm sable with a thick and persistent light tan head. Rich flavor fills the mouth with brown sugar, caramel, pecan and malt notes plus hints of chocolate and roast quality coffee. May be a whisper of licorice in there, too. Fairly sweet, but not too much. Smooth, firm texture has a good amount of fizz and very nice body. A nutty conquest indeed!

22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark brown with a beige head of foam. Aroma is sweet lactose and roasty malt. Reminds me of a sweet stout. Tastes mildly sweet with just a touch of pecan nuttiness coming through. It’s barely there. I was hoping for it to taste more like pecan pie.
