COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Bottle - Molasses and some sweet boozy soapy notes. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark chocolate and molasses with a light bit of the pecan in the finish. Nice, but not nearly as good as the 512 in regards to pecan flavor.

Ok. Disclaimer: I live in a part of the country where every yard has at least a couple of pecan trees and it’s not uncommon to see orchards that line the roads for a mile or more. Most of us pronounce this word as "PEA-can", not the "pub-CAHN" more common in places that don’t have pecan trees. Because of this, it feels immoral to pronounce the name of this beer in a way that makes the pun make sense. Other than that, a good beer. There’s some slight harshness in the finish. Really wish the pecans were more obvious, bit a good beer.

Flaske, 75 cl, hos Yespr.

Bottle from Mane Liquor for Ryan’s ’wetting of the babies head.’ You can actually taste the pecan. Well pissed. Kinda sweet and very sessionable. Solid porter

Pours clear dark brown color with tan head. Aromas of toasted malts, caramel. Toasted malt and sweet caramel flavor with some chocolate and nuttiness. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a slightly dry finish. A nice porter.

Despite the title, the beer has very little taste nor aroma of pecans. The Beer looks solid although it has a nice malty finish. Very little hops ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I have been wanting to try this for a while so when I had a quiet evening it was the first to get opened. An excellent release lives up to the name on the label. If you like Derby pie and coffee then this is the perfect beer for you.

Aroma / Appearance - A fluid rich base supports a growing mocha head that surges before slowly collapsing like melting snow. Pecans, dark chocolate, and coffee lend a creamy texture that is a bit unusual for a porter. The presence has a sweet dessert presence.

Flavor / Palate - Coffee and dark chocolate form a foundation for the maltiness that follows. After a few seconds pecans rise up to sit on top. The warm cocoa of the finish caps off a balanced experience with a handful of marshmallows. Drink this with dessert for a great pairing.

Bottle, pours black with tan head. Aroma of dark roasted grain with some earthiness. Flavor of dark roasted malt, light sweetness, very subtle pecan if any, and light sweetness, some dark chocolate with a balanced dark roast bitter. Medium mouthfeel but a bit watery and medium-high carbonation. Overall, pretty solid.
