Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Smoky aroma has notes of caramel, malt - and yes, pecan. Pours a rich, warm sable with a thick and persistent light tan head. Rich flavor fills the mouth with brown sugar, caramel, pecan and malt notes plus hints of chocolate and roast quality coffee. May be a whisper of licorice in there, too. Fairly sweet, but not too much. Smooth, firm texture has a good amount of fizz and very nice body. A nutty conquest indeed!

Draft at Barcade. Super dark brown pour with light head, very nice lacing sheets. Notes of caramel malts, light roast, milk chocolate, light hops, and coffee. Not much pecan pie in this one for me. Medium body. Just ok.

Bottle courtesy pikapp327. Pours a dark brown color with a foamy tan head. Aroma is dry, roasty, sweet sugar and nuts. Light mouthfeel, roasty flavor. Maybe light pecan flavor but not much. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. near black with a small, stable, creamy light brown head. sweet nose with dark chocolate. great creamy, full body with low carbonation makes for easy drinking. flavor has notes of chocolate, a balanced flavor hop addition, and an odd vinous note. not much pecan, but i get a nutty bitterness in the finish similar to green walnuts. overall, it tastes pretty good and has good balance.

Very dark brown near black pour with decent offwhite head. Big roasty semisweet nose with a strong clean nuttiness that is not vegetal at all. Flavor is similar, but has a coffee w/ creamer note too it. I wouldnít have described this as pecan pie, but it is still a pretty damn good nutty porter. Awesome name.

Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a medium brown topper that fades away rather slowly. Aroma is up front brown sugar and pecan with coffee, dark roasted malts, sticky buns and a touch of bready malt. Taste of brown sugar, coffee, chocolate, nuts and mild pecans with an acidic finish.

Clear black colour, red hue, beige head. Aroma of pecan, nuts, malts, caramel, molasses and apple. Quite mellow / subdued. Light sweet flavour, light bitter, hint of cacao, light nuts. Quite thin body. Finish malts and caramel.

There seems to be some emerging debate about this beer. Perhaps it depends on the bottle, but in my case, this beer was quite good, and definitely rich. Very dark, nearly opaque pour. The pecan quality was very difficult to tease out of it, and warming didnít bring it to light. Chocolate, roasted-to-smoke notes, some wood, all told a very rich and flavorful porter, with a body that veered to the edge of the stouts, with some carbonation but a rich, sweet, clinging oiliness. A light burnt bitterness at the finish. Really enjoyable, whether or not it has any pecan pie (except for sweetness). Bottle, with Thanksgiving dinner.

Black bier with a 1/4 trying tan head. The aroma is mellow, rich pecan. The flavor is amaretto malty pecan. A little spice. medium body and some creamy sweetness. A sweet desert sort of bier for those with a swveet tooth.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a dark brown with a beige head of foam. Aroma is sweet lactose and roasty malt. Reminds me of a sweet stout. Tastes mildly sweet with just a touch of pecan nuttiness coming through. Itís barely there. I was hoping for it to taste more like pecan pie.
