COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our new Pecan Pie Porter no longer uses extract, but rather brown sugar and pecans roasted by friends at The Gallows in Boston. Buddy Hadry, a rep at Bella Vista in PA, gave me the name for this beer, the second Pecan beer now that he has named. Thank you, Buddy!

Smoky aroma has notes of caramel, malt - and yes, pecan. Pours a rich, warm sable with a thick and persistent light tan head. Rich flavor fills the mouth with brown sugar, caramel, pecan and malt notes plus hints of chocolate and roast quality coffee. May be a whisper of licorice in there, too. Fairly sweet, but not too much. Smooth, firm texture has a good amount of fizz and very nice body. A nutty conquest indeed!

Bomber into tulip. Really nice beer from the 2013 release. Not a huge amount of pecan on the taste but a really flavorful beer nonetheless. Will grab again for the 2014 release. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown almost black with creamy brown head. Smells of dried fruits, roasted malts, and nuts. Taste has a metallic tinge to it, caramel malts, drive fruit, light bitter, and coffee. Has a very creamy mouth feel and has a bitter coffee after taste.

Bottle thanks to trade! Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dark grains with some sweet chocolate and a hint of pecan. Flavor has more roasted malts with some sweet dark grains and a bit of pecan.

Dark brown to black, thin brown head. Sugary, burnt nut nose. Malty, cardboard taste that quickly fades to nuts with a slight bitter taste at the end. Slightly creamy/chewy. Very nice.

Bottled@vPBFIII. More or less pitch black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is nuts, some alcohol, a bit sugary along with some raisins and ripe fruits. Flavour is raisins, sweet ripe fruits, alcohol, nuts and some strange kind of sweetness.

Bottle from Andover Liquors, dark brown black tan head. Sweet brown sugary nutty aroma and flavor. Nice beer, although the flavor is a bit subtle, I was expecting something along the lines of Southern Tier Creme Brulee.

Bottle from Mane Liquor for Ryan’s ’wetting of the babies head.’ You can actually taste the pecan. Well pissed. Kinda sweet and very sessionable. Solid porter

degbert (1005) - Austin, Texas, USA - FEB 27, 2014
Bottle. Pours a velvet-Elvis-painting matte black with a high, medium brown, lacy head. Nose is coffee, smoke, pie crust, and unsweetened chocolate. Savory on the front of the tongue, with the brown sugar and pecans hitting in a huge wave immediately afterwards, followed by strong espresso (pie and a cup of coffee, anyone?). Long, complex, and molasses-like finish. Not as sweet as you’d think, and quite nice.

Scopey (5529) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2014
Bottle at Yespr’s. It pours darkest brown/near black with a small tan head. The nose is roasty, toast, nut, caramel, earth, treacle, faint liquorice and a lick of smoke. The taste is light roast, toast, earth, pecan, caramel, pecan pie, earth and a touch of must. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and rather drinkable.
