COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a BIG beer. We basically took the Hoppy Feet recipe and multiplied everything by 1.5. This created a wonderfully unique beer that has a deeper malt balance, bolder hop profile, and an extremely fresh aroma. When comparing to regular Hoppy Feet you will notice much sweeter malt notes mixed in with a more pronounced chocolate and dark fruit flavor. The malt flavors are balanced off with strong pine and citrus notes from the addition of A LOT of hops. This beer was actually dry-hopped not once but TWICE with each of the hop varieties (Columbus, Cascade, and Amarillo).

22oz bomber. Pours a deep black with a nice frothy mocha head. Aroma of piney and earthy hops with a nice roastiness. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, with piney hop bitterness.

Pours dark as stout, with a beige head. The aroma is hoppy, really hoppy, citrus, grapefruit rind, resin, and pine. The flavour is a little more complex though, still hoppy, big on the grapefruit and pine, some medical notes, saltiness, maybe a bit of chocolate then it trails off on a sort of caraway note that’s tied in with a bit of astringent mouthfeel, it’s weird, but I like it.

65cl, at 10%Vol, as Hoppy Feet 1.5, new American brew Anno 2011, from De Hopduvel Gent, very complex bitter brew, malty/roasted and slightly fruity/woody, balanced, hazy, good head, very good brew, yet expensive!

From notes. Had this when it was fairly fresh in spring 2012. Nice hoppy aroma, with a malty finish. Solid Black IPA. needs to be brewed again and go into rotation.

Bottle @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Pours like motor oil, so thick and dark, with almost no head. Nose has liquorice and burnt sugar and slight hop. Lovely rich, full taste, with only modest sweetness in the beginning. Herby notes and liquorice in middle with nicely soothing bitter aftertaste. Very nice indeed.

22oz bottle thanks to demmbonz
Appearance: Pours black with a big frothy tan head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Citrus and pine resin
Taste: Roasty, sweet caramel, rich chocolate, citrus, finishes with bitter pine resin
Wow, I could drink this every night. Well balanced and hoppy. This is 10%, I wouldn’t have guessed that if it wasn’t on the bottle. Nice.

Solid black ipa offering. Lots of hops flavor and aroma that is balanced out with a good amount of toasted malt. Some bittersweet chocolate and citrus. Finish is slightly bitter and dry. Good stuff

22oz bottle. Bottled on 02/2012. Dark brown pour, light brown head. Aroma of hops. Scents of citrus and pine hops. Not much malt, I expected there to be a touch of roasted barley. Just hops and a good amount of booze. Tastes of some coffee/burnt grains, loads of hops. Bitterness lingers all through out the finish. Sharp pine bite from hops. Bitter citrus rind as well. Overall, it’s kinda what I expected out of this First Anniversary brew. (3643)
