COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a BIG beer. We basically took the Hoppy Feet recipe and multiplied everything by 1.5. This created a wonderfully unique beer that has a deeper malt balance, bolder hop profile, and an extremely fresh aroma. When comparing to regular Hoppy Feet you will notice much sweeter malt notes mixed in with a more pronounced chocolate and dark fruit flavor. The malt flavors are balanced off with strong pine and citrus notes from the addition of A LOT of hops. This beer was actually dry-hopped not once but TWICE with each of the hop varieties (Columbus, Cascade, and Amarillo).

22 oz. bomber from Binny’s, April 2011. Unless I missed in my check, this is currently the strongest Black IPA made, no? Unless there are beers filed under Double IPA. This does smell of warming alcohol, unfortunately not enough to break up the stuffy nose I’ve got. Solid black body, slightly foamy stout-colored head. I let my regular Hoppy Feet sit too long, but let’s see what a year does to this one: Taste is in the Impy stout territory, still a lot of roastiness in the malts, which I’d hoped would smooth a little bit by now. Still a lot of piney hop resin banging away on my taste buds. Roastiness does dwindle away once the stuff coats my innards, making it a roughhouse of a beer, but a welcome nightcap.

22oz bottle 11/22/14 (Payless Liquors #9-Indy)-40° in Shaker-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of hops, malt, dark fruit, and chocolate. Taste of hops, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, and malt. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and hides the ABV very well. Great brew.

22 oz Bomber. Tasted on 10/14/14. Bottle from Total Wine Lewisville, TX. Poured to a deep black color similar to an imperial stout with a dark tan thick head. The nose had a roasty smell with a mild hop nite to it. The beer drank very well for a high ABV. On the finish it was pretty dry & not much sweetness to it. Overall a nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"A little age in this bomber, but not too bad. Good, balanced aroma and flavor varying between orange peel and pine, and molasses, chocolate and coffee. Solid slick feeling body. I’d love to try fresh, but total wine won’t let me."

Pours a dark brown/black color and has a thick head. Tastes bitter and slightly of chocolate and burnt coffee but in no way is it overpowering. A very good bipa, and I would happily drink this again. A must try.

Bottle:   Smooth, low hop and roast, hides 10% well.   Citrus peel and pith, thankfully no pasture.   Sweeter than most.   Nice example.   Bottle date is June 2013, but it still has legs.   Hops maybe softer than fresh, but it works.   Good body.   Thanks Kevin!

22. Thanks, A! Old bottle, but showing very well. Pours a thick and creamy dark ebony with a towering off white head. Big rich roasty sweet malty nose with nice fruity orange counterpoints. Dense creamy mid palate with lively carb. Roasty sweet chocolatey mid palate with bright oily orangey overtones. Long sweet roasty finish.
