Pours absolute black with a chunky, light brown head.
Aroma is strong grapefruit peel and resin...licorice.
Flavour is coffee..smothered beneath a deep, piney bitter....malty.
Creamy, rich...chocolate subtleties.
Really, really nice.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Glass at Barcade for their Clown Shoes takeover. Black pour with medium off white head. Notes are roasty malt, bitter pine, juicy amarillo, light cocoa dust, and bready malt. Really balanced and sessionable, I still like the hoppy 1.5 compared to this offering from Clown Shoes.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black pour with tall white head. Lots of dark roasted/burnt barley and resiny hop flavor. Mouth feel is quite a bit thinner than other BIPA’s i’ve had. Overall nice beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Bottled on 02/2012. Black pour. Tall foam, long lasting, light tan color. Seems to be very carbonated. Heavy hop scent, loads of citrus hops some band-aid aromas. Columbus and Amarillo. Gentle roast nose from burnt barley malt. Very dry body. Loads of roast, burnt barley malt backbone. Very resin-like hop bite. Light bodied. Flavors of chocolate, smoked malts, some molasses. Very wooded hop flavors. A bit over carbonated, may have been over-bottle-conditioned. Much more sessionable than the Hoppy Feet 1.5, but if you wanted to impress someone offer them the HF1.5 instead.
