Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus hops.
Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

The aroma is very toasted with burnt malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses, and lots of hops. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The taste is like the aroma and astringent. The palate is smooth. Overall this is an average black IPA.

22 oz. bottle. Bottled: 7/7/11. Pours a deep mahogany with a smallish tan head. Cocoa, black coffee, dark chocolate, light caramel, some pine, and a little citrus in the aroma. Thin to medium-bodied and fairly crisp on the way down. Chocolate cake, black coffee, and some light caramel start things off taste-wise. Plenty of bittering grapefruits and citrus rinds at the end. Quite dry. I’m not much of a fan of the style, but this is good.

Not that great. My advice, let this get to room temperature before drinking ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2012, Olympia, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a small beige head on top. Hoppy, pine, citrus aroma. Tastes of grapefruit, pine, hoppy, bitter, chocolate. Not sure about this one, it is OK but I struggled to finish my half pint measure.

Nice and chalky. Black appearance with tannish head. Bottle a bit old (6 months) so hop character was reduced, drank more like a porter, still good, but need to find a fresher bottle.

Black. Foamy off-white head. Toasty, stout aroma. Perhaps too much of a stout flavor for this IPA. Palate is muddled and a bit off putting. Too much of the old metallic, tar flavor. The flavor suggests a stronger ABV, but that's not the case. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown, meduim bodied Black IPA with tan head, significant bitterness and malt foundation. Aroma and flavors of nut, pine, and chocolate. The citrus grapefruit flavor from hops was eager than expected.

Dark brown color with tan head. Very nice pine, citrus, floral hoppy aromas with sweet dark chocolate. Medium body. Pine, citrus hoppy flavors with semi-sweet chocolate, dry black malts--good

A gift from Gregg Berman. Thanks a lot! A: This brew appears a dark mahogany color, with a dense inch of light beige head which exhibits great retention and leaves plenty of lacing on the pint glass. S: Aromas of roast, hops, and pine. T: The beer is a combination of roast and hop flavors, with some chocolate notes in there as well. The beer tastes a little too bitter, with a slight hop astringency emerging in the back end. M: OK feel, but a bit imbalanced in the finish. D: An alright beer. I’m still not sold on this style. I really enjoy IPAs and roasty brews, but not sure that marrying the two is the best idea. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-07-2011
