Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus hops.
Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

Bomber poured into a duvel tulip. Extreme dark brown with a 2 finger tan head that shrinks to a quarter inch with nice lacing. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, pine, and toasted barley. Taste is toasted malt and barley, citrus, coffee, and semisweet chocolate are here too. Mouthfeel is thin to medium and it lingers. Real good black ipa

Thanks for sharing MMDan. Dark black pour with brown highlights, very thick tan rocky head. Aroma is chocolate and citrusy hop. palate is thin on the front. Dusty chocolate, hop is not as pronounced in the flavour as the aroma. somewhat chalky, then a nice lingering roasted malt finish.

More ipa than black but not in a bad way. Not getting a lot of roasty malt but am getting most of that pine and grapefruit aroma. Finish is mostly sticky pine flavors and a bitter finish that lasts a while. As an ipa it is tasty.

On tap at Hobbit Cafe in Houston. Let me start by saying I have no idea what a black pale ale is...Cascadian Dark Ale or India Dark Ale might make more sensible nomenclature. I will also confess that while this is not my favorite category, I do absolutely love Stone’s SSR and Barley Brown’s Turmoil, which pretty much peg the meter in this category. I found this offering to be closer to a porter with more roast and malt and less IPA citrus, pine sap, bitterness, etc. The roast overwhelms the rest and the hops fall flat and feel thin to me. One is enough...

22 oz. bottle from Julio’s Liquor’s. Served in a standard pint. Deep brown nearly black. Small, thin tan head. Not much retention. Roasted malt, chocolate and some resin aromas. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit hops, citrus balanced with rich roasted malts. This was better Grand Teton Trout Hop and spent MUCH less on the bottle. Clown Shoes does well with hoppy brews styles.

Clear, black body with a large tan head that fades to a thin film. Super roasty, coffee, with underlying hoppy notes. Very bitter flavor with mouth-drying burnt malt taste. Too roasty. Not a big fan.

Dark opaque brown color, small brown head. Light hoppy nose with toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Very hoppy, piney, woody flavor. Finish has some burnt espresso notes. Leans more on hoppy side.

Bottle thanks watson1977. Pours brown with a foamy soapy off white khaki head that rests to a spotty film and some lacing. Aroma is slight chocolate and coffee. Taste is mellow but noticeable bitter hops with a coco malty backbone and some coffee. Palate is medium and chalky and finishes dry.
