10/7/11. 22oz bottle. Black pour, brown under the light, with a small khaki head. Big hoppy aroma, perhaps a little musty and old, with a touch of coffee. Huge roasty flavor of coffee and dark chocolate with lingering hops and citrus. Not bad!

Bottle from kegs and barrels. Pours black with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly. The aromas are coffee , citrus, chocolate. The mouthfeel us bitter, roasty and dry with a heavy body. Great beer! Cheers!

2011-09-30. Black body with a nice foamy tan head. 4+ Flavour is fairly bitter, bit of an odd roasty earthy character. 6+ Aroma is modestly hoppy, green leafy hops, mild roast malt. 6+ Average palate. Decent. Bottle shared by Blankboy

Thanks to Blankboy. Appearance: Deep dark red, thick off white head. Aroma: Nicely hopped, good amount of malt and a hint of cherry. Flavour: Very very bitter, lots of malt too, like chewing on hoppy earth, very leafy and a super dry finish, nice enough.

On tap. Black brew with a creamy, tan head. Piney hop punch overpowering the roasted malt in the nose. More pine flavor with grapefruit, roast, and nuts. Too thin and subpar overall.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with fizzy tan head. Aroma of pine and earthy hop with just hints of dark roasted grain. Flavor is much the same with a sharp earthy and piny bitter that lingers. Mouthfeel is medium body with high carbonation and kinda watery. Overall, not bad!

Black with a bit of red trying to look for it with a tan creamy head with good lacing. Very nice hop aroma, pungent resinoyspice pine, dark chocolate roasty malt- you can smell the darkness, nice.Real piney hop taste,a, none in the nose of grafruit, dark chocolate with a clean flat middle almost watery finishing with pine grapefruit and dark malt roast bitterness, A little roastier and dark character than im used to but definatly a huge hop presence for ipa fans.Nuttiness was hard to detect with all the hop. I like the hop selected character but was a bit much in flavor, but im not complaining i like the flavor. I know ??huh

Bomber. Pours a very dark brown with medium creamy light tan head with sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a floral hops and grapefruit. Medium mouthfeel with a strong hop bite upfront with roast and chocolate and nice bitter finish. A very good Black IPA from Clown Shoes.
