Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus hops.
Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2012 On cask at The Hay Merchant. Poured a pitch black with a huge khaki head and great lacing. Smell is char, chocolate, coffee, light pine, and grass, but very malt forward. Taste is chocolate, coffee, light molasses, and a moderately piney bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty good beer, but could use a larger hop profile. I also think pouring this beer on cask was a real disadvantage and completely killed the carbonation. Overall, it was still pretty decent.

Pours a deep, rich black with a nose of woody pecans and wet bark in a hops bucket. Flavor is a blend of chocolate/smoke/hops with a light floral finish. Subtle hints of woody orange rind emerge as the beer dissipates on the tongue. Average mouthfeel. Tasty, for sure.

Pours a black with a darker beige head. Aroma is darker. Contains some chocolate, licorice, nuts, bread, and a bit of citrus, perhaps grapefruit. Taste is very hoppy and piney. Bitter, dry, and very roasted. Notes of grapefruit and chocolate are detectable as well. Long and heavy pine with a touch of chocolate in the aftertaste. Very sticky upon drinking. This one is pretty interesting and unusual. Definitely worth a try.

Dark beer with faint mahogany hues around the edges. Thin whispy beige head and a nose of roasted grains with some citrus hops. Flavors of burnt grains, brown sugar, wet paper sack and pink grapefruit rind. Nice black IPA.

(Bottle) Pours dark brown with beautiful dark red hints. Creamy, nougat coloured head. The aroma holds caramel, nuts, mild chocolate roast, soft liquorice, dark bread, asphalt. flowers, herbs, earth, light grapefruity citrus, friendly pine and touch of tobacco. Light cheese oxidized. The flavour is light sweet to dry, near medium bitter and light acidic with note of ash, asphalt, coffee, burned dark bread, liquorice, grapefruit, resin, pine, bitter herbs, tobacco and pine. The mouthfeel is clean and soft with an aggressive tea like finish. Light to medium carbonation. Grapefruity, resinous piny and burned coffee aftertaste. Medium bodied.

Cask. Malty and hoppy but I didn’t care for the hop flavors in this one, they seemed old or stale. A bit of a malt flavor but overall it seemed kind of thin.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse (Habersham St) - 22 oz bomber. Pours viscous black as tar with a nice thick khaki head with thick sticky rings of lacing. Aroma is spruce oriented with some chocolate notes hanging around in the back end. Rib-sticking flavor with some light licorice notes, some bittersweet chocolate, pronounced citrus bitterness and some spearmint notes in the back end. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Best Black IPA I have had in a while.

Poured deep black with a beige ring. Smell has the citrus from the hops blended well with a roasted coffee aroma. Impressed that the taste pretty much follows suit with nice blending of roasted citrus flavor (kind of a weird taste profile). I would say the roasted malts mostly dominant though, giving a little bit more coffee and chocolate. Extremely bitter, spicy aftertaste. Full bodied for an IPA (even a Black IPA). Interesting, drinkable bitter beer.
