A deep dark IPA with a thin moka head. In aroma, classic c-hops with chocolate notes, pinhey and smooth. In mouth, a smooth pinhey hops with smooth chocolate, classy and lovely. On tap at Boston Beer Summit, Jan. 15 2011.

Appearance: Pours black with frothy swirls of head.
Aroma: Faint citrus and sage.
Taste: Very bitter hops and malt. A bit of grapefruit on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin with prickly carbonation.
Overall: I found this to be like a really bitter porter.

It pours dark black, no hue, with an off-white bubbly head. The aroma is predominantly hops with some malts way in the background. There are a lot of hops up front in the flavor with light roasted notes on a smooth, medium body.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of resiny hops, roasted malt, some toffee. Tastes of light resin, pine, peppery, some maple, some chocolatey hints on the finish. Enjoyable.

22 oz bottle. Pretty, dark brown pour with a thick light brown head. Aroma of grapefruit, roasted malt and faint bitter chocolate. Sharp taste of pepper and citrus hops with a lasting bitter finish. Really different, really good.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of dark malt, hops, pine, resin, light citrus, and slight cocoa. Poured very dark brown/ruby in color with a small to medium-sized, creamy, dense, rocky, brown head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of malt, hops, pine, resin, tar, slight roasting, and slight caramel. Medium body. Slightly tingly, slightly thin, slick, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, hop, pine, resin, tar finish is lightly dry, medium sweet, and medium bitter.

Bomber shared by my friend Ken poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earthiness, pink grapefruit, tangerine, light tropical fruit anmd a hint of pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of roaasted malt, grapefruit, light pine and a hint of chocolate wioth a crisp dry lingering roasty bitter finish.

Had this on tap in Plymouth, for what it is, it was a solid beer, basically as advertised, a hoppy porter, not sure I loved the mixing of the flavors, pretty average for me.

22oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a very large sized, frothy, off white head. Chunky lacing left on the glass. Aromas of pine, floral, some roastiness, and licorice. Tastes of lighter roast, chocolate, some pine, and fruity.

Bottle. Black, low brown head. Cascade, clementine aroma. Medium to light body, quite hoppy, pine, citrus, extreme but not soapy, metallic pine finish.
