Chocolate, candy and hoppy pine on the nose. Blackish color with an tan foam. Strong bitter hops upfront with an interesting coffee bean, creamy chocolate and nutty espresso backbone. Very malty and toffee-like flavor on the finish. Overall, noticable alcohol and bitterness with roast flavors.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 8-16-14. Scents of brown sugar, dark chocolate brownie, molasses, and a touch of paint, but not in a particularly bad way. Yeasty (clean, chlorine-like), musty aroma. Pours an opaque, dark brown with a very large amount of thick, uneven, long-lasting, taupe head. Produces good, thick lacing. Dry, piney flavor. English yeast character to the taste, like an English brown ale or a porter. Roasted malt flavors and a touch of smoke. The flavor reminds me of an overcooked savory pastry. Medium body. Lively enough and soft in the palate. Not bad but not outstanding palate effects. Solid and enjoyable beer overall.

pours unclear very dark brown with a large creamy and almost creamy light beige head, good retention and lacing - just a bit dirty but lots of qualities, appearance-wise. piney, citrusy, tropical chocolate beans, candied mangoes and pineapple in a sweet chocolate bar, so yah some sweetness - molasses, some ashes, woodsy astringency, booze and tingling pepper. average carbonation, light to medium body - oily and a tad heavy for style and abv; bold peppery-earthy-piney finish. dense and slightly sugary bipa - very tropicaly aromatic with a nice roasted profile though. much enjoyed!

Bottle thanks to czar, thanks a lot bro! Pours a really dark brown and almost black with a medium lightly beige head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of roasted malt and resin, pretty much what you’d expect from a black IPA. The hops are there but pretty pedestrian, not that distinctive. Taste is bitter to a medium-high level and features more roasted malt flavors, along with some citrus and pine. Alcohol warms you quite a bit for such a "light" brew. Body is medium, carbonation pretty high and mouthfeel is slightly stout-ish. Overall this was a good Black IPA, I wish I could appreciate this style more.

12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice light black with a decently fluffy medium khaki head that leaves some great lacing. The aroma is very roasty. There is a strong resin presence on the very front and it remains throughout. The roasted malt is just lovely, but I'm missing a hoppy bitterness that a lot of black IPAs offer. The flavor is much more bitter than I was expecting based on the aroma. There is a great roastiness on the front with a lovely hoppy fruity presence. I'm also getting a solid amount of piney resin. The mouth feel is a little light and thin, but there is a decent carbonation to help out. The aftertaste is a bit roasty, but transforms into a bitter hoppiness that lasts ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 355ml. Pours black with medium beige head. Some lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, citrus, pine, resin. Taste is of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, ashes, bitterness, resin, pine, grapefruits. Palate: Somewhat sticky. Full bodied. Soft-medium carbonation. Overall: Pretty good. Maybe just slightly too heavy body-wise. Not really refreshing.

A well made and balanced Black IPA... If roasty malts paired with citrus hops is your thing then you will enjoy this beer. There are no unique or interesting flavours here and it is a fairly uninspiring beer . Tastes like someone mixed some stout into a typical citrus fruit driven IPA.

Butelka 1pint6fl.oz. Piwo jest kompletnie czarne o sredniej wielkości pianie. Piana ma kolor cappuccino. Pachnie czarna czekolada, suszonymi figami, brownie, skórka pomarańczy i pompelo, zywica, wanilia, smietana. Piwo ma gesta kosynstencje podobna do smietany. Jest lekko gazowane. Piwo jest ogolnie słodkie w smaku, o dominujācych nutach ciasta czekoladowego. Nuty palone to przede wszystkim czarna czekolada. Gorzkość jest intensywna ale nie obezwładniajāca o nutach skórki cytrusów i palonych.

Bottle. translucent black colour. Lacking in hops for an IPA. Strong malt presence with more of a coffee aftertaste than I prefer.

Fairly mild black IPA, despite the stout black body. Small creamy beige head, decent lacing. Faint roast grain aroma, taste has slight roast grain bite. Some lingering coffee bitterness, somewhat slick and slippery.
