Smells good, looks good. The right side of hoppy, strong taste with a good finish. A great session beer, beautiful in a glass.

650ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a medium light beige head, which lasts fairly well and leaves reasonable lacing. Coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate dominate the aroma, with some faint grapefruit and pine needle hops notes coming through. A touch of dusty cocoa up front gives way to strong pine and grapefruit hops, with some pepper hops notes in there as well. A little coffee leads into bittersweet dark chocolate in the mid-palate. This persists into the finish, with an almost fruity cocoa taste coming in at the end. This is quite a nice black IPA, but it could do with a bit more of a hops kick to really lift it.

Pours opaque black with resilient tan head and good lace. Aromas of citrus, grass, evergreen hops and a good roast light malt and caramel character to balance. Med body, caramel sweetness balanced with the roast and hop characters.

crazyvin (1705) - New York, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Black body with a beige head that had no retention or lace. Aroma was a nice mix of roasted coffee malts and a nice grapefruit hop note. There was a mild pine note to it. Flavor had some nice roasted coffee malts upfront, could not get a sense of chocolate malts at all. Which is good coffee malts seemed to complement the grapefruit hops, which dominated the hop profile. Moderately dry finish. Good beer which at times the flavor seemed two-dimensional. Somewhat light on the palate. Alcohol seemed to have a nice kick to it.

Pourer from bottle. One of the better black ipa I've had. Super smooth. Creamy hoppy and choclate. Love it
