Hoppy Feet has been lovingly crafted by combining premium malt with lots of Amarillo and Columbus hops.
Grapefruit and Pine are balanced on the nose and on the palate by a nutty, dark chocolate, roasted backbone.

Pours jet black with a big frothy tan head that sticks around for a while. Aroma is big pine and grapefruit hops. Taste is sweet chocolatey malts that melt away to a cascade of grapefruit hop bitterness for a nice, long finish. Magnificent beer.

341 ml. bottle. Purchased @ Willems & Zoon. Bottled on 04/08/2015 (USA notation). Pours very dark brown, small mocha. Nose is quite hoppy still, blue cheesy & pine, malt background is rather big, powdery roasted malts & cacao, instant chocolate milk sweetness. Taste is floral & bit herbal bitter with chocolate milk sweetness, cheap cacao puffs, powdery cacao, grass, a touch empty, chicory coffee, rather powdery herbal. A touch empty & powdery. Not heavily astonishing but quite solid all the same. Age might play some role here. Solid but not stellar which is how Clown Shoes has come across so far for me. I wonder what their price point is in the USA?

Huge chocolate roasted notes intertwined with citrus hop profile - everything a black IPA strives to be - not my favorite style at the end of the day but a spot on interpretation.

Hoppy Feet is a very fragrant black IPA with nice firm and creamy light brown foam. The surprise a lot with its aroma, because it smells wildly from chocolate notes. Not like the classic dark chocolate as many beer smells of, but rather as good homemade brownie or chocolate cake. I could be forgiven for thinking that it was stout they had in the glass, but in the background lurks also a bittersweet discrete citrus aromas, and then you know that waiting an exciting IPA. The taste is good and rich and long taste of both chocolate malt and hard roasted malt tones with good fruity balance going towards something apricot and passion fruit. Hop bitterness is gentle and citrusy, and keeps well in the background to the malt tones of. Then sneak Columbus and Amarillo hops (here I cheated and read hops types on label) slowly into the back of the tongue and fills the mouth with a long and pleasant hoppy taste, which stands in attractive relief to the IPA’s malted impression. It is rare to experience an American IPA in good balance for most American IPA’s used to be more hoppy aggresive. This is simply very good.

Bottle from Kihoskh, Copenhagen - fuzzy dark brown to black coloured pour with a beige head. Aroma and taste is a mix of roasted malts and tropical citrus fruits, prominent hoppy, grapefruit, pine needles, some caramel, roasted hoppy finish. Decent.
