Lube? Hey, get your mind out of the gutter! Social lubrication, people coming together to unwind, is what we are talking about. This American Black Ale has a dark body, medium bitterness, balanced with West Coast hops and sweet orange peel.

Pours black with a little head. Aroma was good but I don’t remember anything specific. Taste was good but after taste was horrible.

Deep brown with big foamy dark brown head. Aroma is grapefruit and pine and a little chocolate. Flavor is resinous; mainly hoppy with a bit of roast.bitter, medium body, sticky finish.

The nose has a good balance of hop and malt. The first taste shows a dark malt bitterness along with the hop flavor. The palate is a little thin. Smooth dry finish. This will work as a session beer for me. Very astringent, because of the dark roasted malts and hops. Love the picture, and not offended by it.

Scipio (488) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - JUL 11, 2012
Pours jet black with a tan head that quickly fades. Aroma is heavy. Consists of lots of chocolate and toffee, and is very roasty. Taste is quite different than the aromatic impressions. Taste is quite bitter. Chocolate takes a back seat here, and instead is filled with a piney orange flavor. Quite tart actually and very different than a whole lot of other beers that I’ve tried. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Long aftertaste of orange that is bitter. You really need to try this one for the novelty that this is at the very least.

MikeJslc (469) - Utah, USA - JUN 15, 2012
Dark brown to black, fluffy tan head. Aroma: chocolate, light licorice, some leather in this year-old bottle, hop aroma is light (but again fairly old bottle). Flavor: chocolate, some pine and orange peel, an earthy character. Finishes with a dry baker's chocolate note. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is burnt malt, hops, and dark chocolate. The taste is bitter burnt malts, orange peel hops, and a slight chocolate sweetness. The aftertaste is long and reminds me of charcoal. A little one-sided, I like bitter beers as much as the next guy but I was wishing this was a little more balanced.

Thanks for sharing Sebastian! Pours a dark brown with orange highlights. Smell is dark roasted malt, mild licorice. Taste is roasted malt, spice, piney hops with a dry finish. Active carbonation...a bit too much and light body. Not too exciting but also not too bad.

Brenhophead (382) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - APR 12, 2012
650mL bottle, pours black with a 2 finger tan head and a coffee aroma with a hint of hop resin on the nose. The roasted malts seem to dominate the flavour so ill let it warm up a little an come back. Picking up the ash and esspresso as well as a hop backround but as i said the dark malts dominate.

Pours a very semilucent dark ruby with medium brown head that lingers. Small lacing. Smoky and roasted malt aromas. Coffee. Underlying herbal hops appreciated. Moderate carbonation, full bodied, chewy palate. Medium bitterness with well balanced richness from the malts. Medium bitter finish. This is a well made beer.
