3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark black with a huge tan head. Overcarbonated from the loos of it. The nose is roasted coffee, nuts, flour and resin. The taste is sweet with a good amount of bitter. The mouthfeel is like pop rocks. To much carbonation. The body is light, the finish is medium., It’s ok.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Malt, pine hops, and a little metallic tinge in the aroma. Flavor starts with hop bitterness, with a little chocolate and citrus (and more bitterness in the finish). Good, but not great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
The nose has a good balance of hop and malt. The first taste shows a dark malt bitterness along with the hop flavor. The palate is a little thin.
Smooth dry finish. This will work as a session beer for me. Very astringent, because of the dark roasted malts and hops. Love the picture, and not offended by it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown beer, with a nice off-white head. Aromas of mild earthy hops. Taste is a bit one dimensional: dry, herbal hops through and through. Not much malt backing up the hops, maybe some hints of watered down black coffee here and there. Dry, hoppy finish. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours jet black with a tan head that quickly fades. Aroma is heavy. Consists of lots of chocolate and toffee, and is very roasty. Taste is quite different than the aromatic impressions. Taste is quite bitter. Chocolate takes a back seat here, and instead is filled with a piney orange flavor. Quite tart actually and very different than a whole lot of other beers that I’ve tried. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Long aftertaste of orange that is bitter. You really need to try this one for the novelty that this is at the very least.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz Bottle. The pour was a very dark black with a large (2-3 finger) light brown rocky head that slowly receded, down to a thin scattered film with a medium collar thus creating good sheets of streaky lacing.
The aroma was a little on the mild side with a burnt grain malt, pine hops and an earthy yeast and had notes of bakers chocolate, roasted coffee, citrus (grapefruit) and a bit of licorice.
The taste was a malty bitter with a note of coffee and bitter chocolate early on, progressing with a slightly bitterer hoppy taste and a light citrus peel presence with a hint of licorice towards the end. The flavor lasted an average time proceeding the swallow, with a nice dark hoppiness that was left lying on the back of the tongue at the finish.
Mouthfeel was a hair below medium in body and dry in texture with a nice mellow carbonation.
Overall this was a mildly hoppy Black Ale, with just enough roastiness to create a nice smooth drinkability...

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A - Black body with 2 fingers of sudsy khaki head that forms a nice collar and holds a thin ceiling throughout. A few one inch patterns of lacing left behind.
S - Dark cocoa, roasted/charred malts, bold green pine needles, slight oxidation.
T - Sticky pine resin laced with dark cocoa, heavy roasted malt fills the top of the mouth. Faint sour fruit notes. Bitter pine holds strong dominating everything in its path. Hints of cardboard and metal. Dry cocoa powder comes back around on the finish leaving a dry roasted finish.
M - Medium to moderate carbonation, light to medium body.
The nose brings a nice roasty charred aroma with pine filling the background. The flavor has an extreme dry and piney roast character that leaves me wanting more. The flavors don’t seem to go anywhere and have a sour mineral flavor that gets in the way. With all that said it gives you nice hop fix and super dry finish, if that’s what you’re looking for.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown to black, fluffy tan head. Aroma: chocolate, light licorice, some leather in this year-old bottle, hop aroma is light (but again fairly old bottle). Flavor: chocolate, some pine and orange peel, an earthy character. Finishes with a dry baker's chocolate note.
