3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very semilucent dark ruby with medium brown head that lingers. Small lacing. Smoky and roasted malt aromas. Coffee. Underlying herbal hops appreciated. Moderate carbonation, full bodied, chewy palate. Medium bitterness with well balanced richness from the malts. Medium bitter finish. This is a well made beer.

Big head. Toasted malt and earthy aroma. Nice toasted malt taste with a bright overtone, but overcarbonated. Good, but would be better if the carbonation was less (or at least smaller bubbles). Might just be my bottle.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber bottled 2/12 into a Duvel tulip. Pours a dark ruby brown with a huge tan head and lots of bubbles. Decent lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus, malts, leather, and grass. Taste is malty up front. Citrus flavors come in with a bit of pine and cream. It finishes with a slightly sweet and smokey flavor. Mouthfeel is thin to medium and goes down pretty easy. Not bad.

Pours black and creates a pancake head. Earthy resin aromas. Semi-dry, with sweet dark caramel and mocha. Bitter abrupt finish. Pares well with chili.

a beautiful dark color. That is very smooth with hints of licorice and not overpowering full body.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: Dark brown body with a well-carbonated tan espresso head.
S: Straight fruity hop presence in the nose with out an expected smokey aroma.
T: Light, bubbly on the way down. Dry finish as an acute smoked presence starts to shine. Hoppy sensation on the sides of the mouth giving a warming sensation.
M: The smoked aspect lingers without being bitter at all.
O: Very impressed with Clown Shoes beer so far. Had Hoppy Feet a couple days ago which was extremely delicious beating out Stone’s 15th anniversary black strong ale. Lubrication did the trick for a 6% black ale but definitely on the lighter side for the style. Not explosive with flavor.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a nice brown color with a 1 finger head. The aroma is a little roasty with notes of hops and earthyness to it. It also has a bit of chocolate in there. The taste is just amazing. It has citrus piney hops up front with a nice malt smoothness in the back. Very easy to drink. This beer is a winner.
