COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lube? Hey, get your mind out of the gutter! Social lubrication, people coming together to unwind, is what we are talking about. This American Black Ale has a dark body, medium bitterness, balanced with West Coast hops and sweet orange peel.

Bottle. Black in color with a medium tan head. The nose is grassy, a bit of pepper some roasted malts. The taste is of roasted flavors, some coffee. Hoppy dry finish. The palate is light/medium, the finish a bit watery. The carbonation active. Overall, an inoffensive black IPA. Nicely made, though boring.

The aroma is very hoppy and toasted with grassy and pine hops. There is both citrus and coffee here. The appearance is dark brown with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall an interesting beer but to astringent.

Fratto (2803) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JAN 28, 2012
Bottle from pikapp327. Dark pour with a massive tan head that is just massive. Aroma is dry chocolate, coffee, and a little dirty. Taste is bitter chocolate, light coffee, and fairly roasted. I donít feel any west coast hops at all. Not bad, though.

jtclockwork (10308) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 25, 2012
Bottle shared with Yanick. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of mint chocolate chip, burnt black malt, pine wood and pine cones. Harshly dry pine cones cut at the back of the palate. Burnt dry chocolate malt follows. Medium body. The only offering from them I didnít like too much so far.

BMan1113VR (7897) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 26, 2012
Bottle. Pours with a deep brown hued body with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are of orange, citrus, pine, faded, tea, caramel, bready, mild roast. Iced tea and marmalade (i.e. faded hops with a lot of crystal malt). Flavors are thin, bland, and watery with mild diacetyl. Some light citrus, bready, mild bitterness. Lighter carbonation. Not a big fan of this one.

gyllenbock (5562) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2013
Bottle, bottled 2/2012. Almost black with a large tan head. Weak aroma with some hops, licorice and light roasted malt. Taste of mostly malt, also some licorice and light notes of hops. Drinkable but an old bottle with a light mouthfeel.

A - Black body with 2 fingers of sudsy khaki head that forms a nice collar and holds a thin ceiling throughout. A few one inch patterns of lacing left behind. S - Dark cocoa, roasted/charred malts, bold green pine needles, slight oxidation. T - Sticky pine resin laced with dark cocoa, heavy roasted malt fills the top of the mouth. Faint sour fruit notes. Bitter pine holds strong dominating everything in its path. Hints of cardboard and metal. Dry cocoa powder comes back around on the finish leaving a dry roasted finish. M - Medium to moderate carbonation, light to medium body. The nose brings a nice roasty charred aroma with pine filling the background. The flavor has an extreme dry and piney roast character that leaves me wanting more. The flavors donít seem to go anywhere and have a sour mineral flavor that gets in the way. With all that said it gives you nice hop fix and super dry finish, if thatís what youíre looking for. Serving type: bottle 11-20-2011

Bottle. The pour is black with a lot of over carbonation, thinking infection. The taste is heavy malt and actually tastes under carbonated weirdly. A decent black ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
