Dry, notes of wood and grapefruit peel. Kind of sharp like with onions. The aroma has a deep sweetness about it, but is also grainy. It’s an okay beer and an alright IPA.

This was only an okay IPA. Had a bit on the warm side. Flavors of bittering hops mostly, not real fruitiness or sweetness. Eh.

Bright golden tangerine pour with a small ivory head that left rings inside the glass. Grapefruit, candied citrus, orange peel, and caramel in the nose. Similar flavor with a hint of dustiness, honey, and pine. Medium mouthfeel but nothing really noteworthy.

Bottle date 5/2012. Poured orange with an off-white head that left light lace. Aroma of grapefruit citrus and light caramel. The flavor found much the same with grapefruit and orange standing out. Light to medium body, orange aftertaste. Very smooth and sessionable.

Poured from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a very slightly cloudy, full amber-orange color with a small foamy white head that had good lacing, but fairly short retention and light cling. The aroma had a strong pine and citrus hops blend with touches of lemon, grapefruit, and straw, and a very light caramel malt undertone. It had a grainy and citrus bitter taste with touches of lemon and straw, but the flavors were light overall. The beer had good-to-average carbonation with a lighter, thin and dry body for a light mouthfeel, and became a bit lifeless.

Bomber. Pours a deep gold with a large off-white head. Aroma and flavor are some pineapple, some grassy, resinous hops, moderately malty backbone. Not very bitter but lots of good hop flavor. Sticky palate. Nice.

Clown Shoes Miracle has a very thick, fluffy, slightly off-white head, a significantly hazy, somewhat bubbly, orange appearance, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of strong grapefruit and bread, and the flavor is of fruity, grapefruit hops, sweet bread, caramel, and sugar. Mouthfeel is medium and viscuous. Clown Shoes Miracle finishes dry and even crisp to some extent. This really is a session IPA. Overall, this is a most excellent beer, and strongly recommend you giving it a try! RJT

Grapefruit and lots of it in the nose. Also a bit of grain. Palate has bite and juicy hops, but works, don’t end up too dry or overwhelmed. Decent.

Bottle. Orange-amber, quite still, virtually no visible carbonation. But the sticky head is resilient. The again, this is darker than you might think and light struggles to penetrate. The beer drinks with that sticky mouthfeel you get from really hoppy beers ... I might design a fly trap. Piney, acidic, slightly metallic. The west coast guys wouldn’t rave, but this is a sturdy example of an American/Anglo blend. Enjoyable. (#4783, 9/15/2012)
