intense flavors, reminiscent of candied fruits, mixed with American hops and sweet orange peel to create a unique take on a Belgian-Style ale.

"Agreed this is quite a treat. More different from original Dark Lord than I thought it’d be. Quite sweet, but so damn smooth you just don’t care. Not better than the original (trades complexity for a little extra smoothness and a different flavor/aroma) but just as good as a year old bottle, and that’s saying a lot. Brandy influence there, but not overbearing. The vanilla is prominent on top of all the chocolate/coffee/licorice/tar aspects of the original. This tasted like a 15% abv cookie. "

Hazy dark golden. Sins of Belgian yeast and citrusy hops. Flavour is some sweet Belgian candi sugar, with slightly resinous hops, nicely blended compared to slot of others I’ve tried in this style.

Keg at BrewDog Bristol. Amazing banana toffee aroma with clean light malt. Delivers flavour of crisp light but very bitter toffee with slight bananery notes. Surprisingly light considering it’s aroma and the bitterness verges toward unpleasant, although doesn’t quite get there as it is strangely complemented by a dryness and zing.

A fantastic Belgian style IPA. Pours a dark golden with medium hoppy notes. Quite warming, but medium smooth. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Aroma: slight funky, very ripe fruit, softly rotted citrus rind. Taste: very great sweet/bitter balance. Palate: extremely creamy, sticky, followed by a syrupy stickiness. Lasting dry.

Hazy golden color with large compact head. Some aroma of American/Belgian yeast, lightly fruity, but also with very light vegetables. Good body strength; malt flavor, moderately sweet, with quite some character from the yeast (some fruit, spice, but also vegetable), strong bitterness, and generous hopping (fruity and resiny).
A good beer, but nothing amazing; and "Belgian" doesn’t blend well with "Triple IPA".
Nothing to justify the high price tag (therefore, one point less).

Tap at Stub and Herb’s in Minneapolis. Thick fruit blend nose (sharp apple and peach), yeast, some fumes. Thick cloudy honey brown color, hasn’t settled or clarified, good lace though. Strong Belg fruitiness, big yeasty bite. Medium body, with some alc. burn, and small particulate matter on tongue, Tasty, for sure, but sure looks like in needs some time to settle.

650 ml. 10.5% abv. Foggy orange-amber with a lasting film of creamy bubbles. Big nose of peach, orange candy, resin and a touch of woody pith. Taste is peach, peppery orange zest, resin, spicy drying Belgian yeast. Some wooden hops and a touch of booze on the finish. Smooth medium-heavy body is sweet but has a big drying finish and a pleasant, medium carbonation level. Great American-Belgian hybrid that blends the best of both worlds, and a very nice dessert beer.

@ Beer tasting, Havregatan 15/7-14. Hoppy and fruity with caramely and yeasty notes, sweet, peachy and grapefruity, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry and bitter, hoppy and fruity. Nice!
