3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy orangey with an off-white head, nice lacings. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, light fruits, orange), yeast, hoppy (flowery, perfumy). Flavor heavy sweet, then a break, then a kick of hops, long lasting. Heavy body, some warming alcohol.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. It pours a cloudy medium amber with a big off-white head. The aroma is made up of pine, grass, floral, grapefruit, and toasted bread. No alcohol bite to speak of. The body is full. The taste is also full of the pine and grapefruit hops with less emphasis on the Belgian malts.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml bottle. Pours amber with moderate head. Aromas of resiny pine, toffee, and toasted malts. Flavors of caramel, orange juice, sweet malts, and pine. Not much Belgian as hops are very prominent, but still very nice.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Golden hazy pour with white head. Well the restaurant had this listed under ipa, should have checked RB first. Light Belgian year and spice aromas. Light spice, fruit and yeast flavors, Belgian ale not ipa.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Total Wine, Delaware 650ml: Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is a whole lot of frutiness, a hefty dosage of spiciness, a good bit of booziness, and plenty of hops. In the taste, this is, to my mind, a pretty accurate combination of a tripel. There is a lot of fruitiness and more than enough sweetness. The hops are there, but they are not particularly bitter. Body is a little on the thicker side. Pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from systembolaget. Nose is crisp and sweet and has notes of hops and caramel. Pours a hazy amber colour with a medium white head. The taste has notes of alcohol, but is as the same time fresh, fruity and and hoppy. Palate is rich and full and has a very distinct taste. Nice beer overall, rich in flavour and is very tasteful.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear copper with two fingers of fluffy off-white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim with moderate spotty lacing. Nose is pine resiny hops, pineapple, orange, apricot, caramel malt. Taste starts moderately sweet, then fruity, finishing citrusy and bitter. Mouth feel is medium- to heavy-bodied and chewy, with moderate carbonation and warming.
Not a tripel style at all, more of an double/imperial IPA: when I think Belgian tripel, I think lighter hop varieties, floral, banana or bubblegum, clove phenols, peppery spice. This has pretty much none of those, and instead is pine resin, tropical fruit, and sweet malt. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fine DIPA, but I don’t see how it’s in any way a tripel. A big beer, albeit not as heavy as might be expected from the ABV. Malt is definitely present, but not overly emphatic, playing a nicely supporting role. A big beer, albeit not as heavy as might be expected from the ABV. But it’s not a tripel.
