22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown, with ruby edges and a one finger tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, nuts and vanilla bean. Interesting taste of roasted malt, mild chocolate and, yes pecans. The pecan flavor is light. This is not some gimmicky liquid pecan pie. Moderate bodied & smooth drinking.

22 oz bottle from Table and Vine, plus on draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Allston, MA. Deep reddish-brown with a solid retention and lacing. The nose doesn’t remind of Pecans at all, more like a fruity aroma, plus some butter. Taste is super sweet. Syrupy. Butter comes out throughout the sip. The mouthfeel is more sticky when sampled on Draught. In the bottle, not so much. I had to try it more than once because I was undecided if I liked it or not. I’m still not sure what to make of this brew. It gets a few points on being different if nothing else.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 halfonit (972) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 23, 2011
On tap at battleship. Pours a very dark brown color with a thick brown head. Aroma is of sweet malts, chocolate, berries, and a little roastiness. Flavor has some burnt malt, nuts, chocolate, and coffee. Leaves a burnt chocolate & malt finish. Smells much different than how it tastes.

@dstructos Daks Back-22oz bottle–pours a light brown head and brown color. Aroma is frankenberry(TM by someone @Gathering). Taste is baker’s dark chocolate, some earthy hops.
3.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7529) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 28, 2011
Bottle…Murky dark brown ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Small, swirling retention. The artificial, but excellent aroma brings back memories of my favorite childhood breakfast cereals – BooBerry and FrankenBerry. Light to medium-bodied and watery with lively carbonation. The flavor slants toward the bitter side of balance and presents a hint of cardboard-like oxidation. There are no other real flaws here; I even taste a little pecan nuttiness. Otherwise, not much is going on. Sort of lifeless and uninspired once one ventures past the nose; however, this bottle is devoid of all the flaws previous ratings have depicted. Finishes lightly bitter and fairly dry. More of an American brown ale than porter, I think. Bottle courtesy of Dstructo!

Shared by Dstructo. I was looking forward to trying this once I heard it was gonna be on the menu for the tasting. Sadly is disappointed big time. I wrote one sentence "butter scotch cream soda" that’s all. I was disappointed.

Dude this is franken boo berry cereal. Aroma and flavor. Holy crap. Totally artificial and crazy.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Thorpe429 (3824) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 14, 2011
Bottle consumed at Dark Lord Day. Served in a SAVOR snifter.
Pours a moderately-dark brown color with a thin off-white head that leaves just a speck of lacing there as it goes down. The nose brings forward some pecan as well as light toffee and butter. Almost reminiscent of cotton candy as you move into the flavor; it’s just that sort of sweetness. Nuts and a bit of butter and toffee finish off the flavor. Not unpleasant, but not something I really enjoyed too much either. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth and one of the better aspects, but the creamy toffee still crept through. Not a bad beer, but not something I would seek out again.
