1/4/13. 22oz bottle thanks to nulledge! Black pour with a soapy light tan head that fades. Rich smokey aroma, borderline ashtray/scotch, some sweet BA. Sweeter entry with more smoke, scotch, sweet BA, and lingering dry smoke. Eh.

Aroma of roasted meat, some smokiness, figs, with hints of dark fruit. A solid black pour with no head and minimal lacing. Only a tan ring persists. The taste is chiefly bitter in character. There is an initial strong smoke flavor, somewhat peaty in nature. This is followed by a bourbon bite which carries the alchocol flaver through the finish and into the bitter aftertaste. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, to me this a "after a meal sipper". Would drink again.

Bomber. Shared with UncleMattie. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of a "brownie" sandwich. Loads of smoked malts. Taste like a smoke and bourbon and soy sauce. Oily texture yet a bit sticky on the lips. Boozy finish. Makes me want some BBQ.

I liked the moked malt. A bit bourbonny in the nose but the flavor is good, slight burnt wood, roasted malt, cocoa, bourbon.

22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted and chocolate malts, some dough, and floral hops. Flavor the same, really complex and a good amount of bourbon. Smooth texture. A good beer, and I agree with someone else on here that it might be the best Clown Shoes beer.

22oz bottle. Pitch black, oily pour with a slight tan head. Nose is big time smoke, roast, bourbon, vanilla - quite complex. Flavor is even more complex and opened up as it warmed. Bourbon, wood, BBQ, some chocolate. Great!

Pours black with dark brown head. Aromas of roasted, smoked malts with a hint of bourbon. Smoked meat flavor with dark roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate and some coffee. Bourbon is subtle, I’d prefer it to be a bit more foward. Full body with minimal carbonation and a slick mouthfeel. Another nice brew from this brewery.
