COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Descended from a notorious clan of Scottish lore, head brewer Dan Lipke channeled the Tartan tapestry encoded in his DNA to create a formidable Wee Heavy. The beer has been aged 100% in fresh bourbon barrels. Ask yourself, Who needs to ride the lion?

Bottle: Cloudy brown with a tan head. Vanilla, caramel, wood and bourbon aroma. Sticky caramel malt, vanilla...bourbon flavor. Very malty, very bourbon after a bit of warming... Candied sweet and barrel/bourbon tart dominate. Tasty.

Poured a hazy brown with little head and really no lace. Aroma was Carmel malt, vanillia, booze and sweet. Aroma was malt heavy. Taste was same but the alcohol note was bourbon. Mouthfeel was slick aftertaste was malty and light bourbon. Loved the bottle artwork, a solid wee heavy.

Pours a two finger off-white head that fades quickly to a ring leaving some lace. Murky brown color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Strong bourbon nose. Flavor is bourbon and hints of caramel, maybe some alcohol in the background. Nice wee heavy. Pricey at $12.99 for a 22oz bottle from Big Deal Irving Spofford, NH.

Bottle, courtesy of a kind soul... shared in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours brick red with a small espresso swirl head.

The aroma is candied apple & caramel malt forward. Its plenty sweet and boozy smelling with some bourbon and some vanilla to it.

The flavor is bourbony and fairly sweet. Its rich and malty with a lot of vanilla. Its got a touch of peppery character and a bunch of booziness.

Pretty good for what it is, but its really not my thing.

Aromas are malt forward - fruit, caramel, and roasted malts. An unfiltered medium brown pour with an off-white ring and minimal lacing and on first approach, the flavors reflect the aromas. Dark pitted fruit, raisins, caramel, wood, roasted malts, and a slight sweetness with touches of nuts, vanilla, and smoke. Medium-full body with medium carbonation. Round mouthfeel. Overall, a nice tasting Wee Heavy.

A cloudy amber pour with a subtle off-white head. A hint of sour smell with a light caramel sweetness. The flavor is rich and full, as expected. A subtle hop bitterness to balance the sweetness of caramel. The flavor hangs and mutates to chocolate notes. Very tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle. Deep amber with one finger head. Very nice bourbon aroma. Substantial caramel malt with a big bourbon kick. Its a huge beer, but not exactly boozy. Im not a huge fan of the style, but this is awesome. Very smooth for the ABV. This could really kick your ass if you werent careful.

Bomber thanks to respertftw. Dark brown with a small head. Bready toffee and vanilla. Lots of bourbon and caramel.

Bottle. Pours very hazy reddish amber, small tan head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is caramel, toffee, bourbon, wood. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, lots of caramel, toffee, bourbon and vanilla notes, but also a harshness from woody astringency that becomes more offputting as more is drunk. Pedestrian attempt in the end.
