3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods-Columbus Circle, 3/19/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly dry, with some orange/grapefruit notes, and a little caramel
Appearance: Pours an unclear bright orange color with a small white head and mid-heavy lacing
Flavor: The taste is fairly bitter, with a light sweetness from the citrus fruits and the caramel malts
Palate: The body is medium, it has a soft carbonation, a long, dry finish, and the alcohol is well hidden
This one is my 200th IPA rating, by far my most of any one style. Anyway, as for the beer, this is a well-made, fairly straight forward IPA. There isn’t a huge resiny citrus bouquet or anything, but the flavor is pretty solid, and the hop bitterness is rather good as well. This one is nicely done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a huge off white head. Head lasts and lasts and leaves heavy lacing. Nose is big resiny hops, pine, sweet caramel malts. Palate is smooth and full. Nice texture, chewy, heavy film on tongue. Flavors of resin and piney hops, caramel malts, some earthy tones.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle from Binny’s Downtown. Pours a cloudy, deep orange-copper colored body with a finger-width, dense, frothy and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is sweet oranges and dank grapefruits with some resiny pines and a sweet caramel backing. A light bread, some toffee, and a few tropical fruits. Flavor is similar. A nice mix between sweet oranges and dank grapefruits with a resiny pine up front before a sweeter caramel and light toffee-bread malt comes in to balance, but still allows the hops to maintain the focus. Pines pick it up towards the end with some dank earth and resins as this finishes dry and bitter with enough of a malt backing to balance. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a solid IPA. Easy drinking, well balanced, and full of flavor. I like the mix of sweet and dank hops balanced with a nice caramel, toffee-bread malt backing. Enjoyable beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tasted on 3/15/12 from a bomber bottle sent to me by Daknole, thanks Dak. Pours hazy, dark orange with an average beige head that leaves thin lace. The nose is full of resinous pine hops, with some lightly sweet caramel malt underlying. The flavor is resin pine hops, with some orange peel bitterness, and caramel bread malt acting as a backbone. The body is medium with average carbonation, and a long, one-noted bitter finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big bottle, copper amber color. Medium velvet head. Pretty fresh aroma of citrus/fruit hop more than floral. Said bottled last month. Medium bitterness. Medium body. Has kind of creamy texture that finished slightly oily/sticky. Long bitter finish. Hop citrus in taste and a hair of pine. Pretty drinkable and definitely full of hop bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-orange color with an enormous fluffy orange-white head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy pine, grapefruit, resin, lemon and caramel. The flavor was very bitter tangy caramel with notes of nut, bread, pine, resin, grapefruit and a hot/spicy hop note underneath. The finish was long and bitter with lingering grapefruit and pine. Medium body. Solid.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not terribly impressed with this one. Hazy golden pour with a small ivory head. Aroma of pine, bread, grass, and honey. Flavor is similar...muddled, not bright, a little dusty. Sweet with a bitter finish.

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a slightly hazy orange color with a large white head. The aroma has an interesting mix of malt and hops. I get some nice orange and grapefruit notes, as well as some other tropical and citrus notes. There is also a nice sweet biscuit malt character to the aroma.
The flavor is more of the same. I get some bitter grapefruit and pineapple notes, as well as some biscuit and toffee from the malt. The sweetness and the fruit notes go very well with the bitterness.
Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors. Bottled 1/2012. So fairly fresh. Pours clear copper with a 1 finger white head. Small amount of lace. Aroma is floral and grassy. Plenty of hops, but not overpowering. Well balanced flavor with a solid malt base followed by citrus. Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Not world class, but quite good.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(22oz bottle) hazy deep orange, with oily tan edge bubbles. Nose of sweet malt, grapefruit/orange pulp, peach and other tropical fruit. Taste of grapefruit, rather malty, caramel, biscuit, quite bitter linger with a medium to thin body that’s quite creamy.
