3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
9th May 2012
Bottle from Olbutikken. Clear amber beer. Good cream coloured head. Light palate, dry. Robust malt, a little raw - grainy and dry. Gives way to to bitter pine hops with a bitter orange marmalade undertone. Finishes dry and minerally with moderate bitter linger. Not the most joined up of IPAs - a bit clunky. But ultimately okay.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe, King’s Lynn; bottled 1/2012 (7 months ago)
Cloudy amber color, medium sized creamy head. Sweet aroma, fruity hops, vanilla, some sweat and yeast, hints of crystal malt. The body is lean enough, with caramel flavor and some toffee, nice hopping, providing a good bitterness level, a good share of resins and moderate fruits.
Good beer, surely better when fresher.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a dense, finger-thick light beige head. Citrus peel and pine cones on the nose, some maltynes in the back. Lacking a bit on complexity maybe, but pleasant. The same goes for the flavor, with citrus peel and pine cones dominating. Sweet, lightly caramel-ish maltyness as a backdrop. Quite a lot of bitterness, both initially and in the end, but it’s not too much in any way. Full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Lacking a bit on drinkability maybe, but it’s a fine beer anyway. 120817
