4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Acquired in a trade. Bottle in Vail with my dad. Poured a clear amber in color with a big off-white, two-finger head and amazing lacing. Aroma is spicy, earthy hops, belgian yeast, bread, and sweet fruits. Taste is earthy hops, clove, a touch off banana, mango, bread, and caramel, with a light bittersweet finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Very well-balanced Belgian IPA, and super smooth; really tasty stuff.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy brownish red. Small head that dissipates quickly. Taste is cherry and grape skin with a sweet finish. Overall a good beer. Not sure what a Belgian IPA is supposed to taste like. Maybe this is it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This one poured a hazy darker yellow with a white head. Aroma was fruity hops, some belgian spice, flavor was similar, decent belgian ipa, but nothing great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a little different. Good IPA but the balance or something is off. Iím typically big on IPAís... Just not this one.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Blind Pig in RSM. Pours a cloudy orange, some lacing. Not much aroma, kinda boring. I'm typically not a fan of Belgian IPA's, but this one was not too bad. Sweet flavor, citrus and bubble gum (I know sounds strange). Not overbearing on the Belgian yeast, so easy to drink. Not to shabby.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Not too bad but it was a little too hoppy for my taste buds. The hops tended to overwhelm.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
An OK beer. Iím usually not a fan of the "Belgian style"-anythings. Aroma was big and tasty. Bubble gum, sweet malt and juicy orange. Pour was a medium orange with a two finger off white head. Taste was a little too sweet and cloying. Strong bubble gum, light fruit and yeast. Very overpowering. Medium carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lovely amber color in the glass. Smooth hoppy aroma. Same smoothness in the flavor. Hops are there but not overpowering. Nice beer for my first Clown Shoes.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled January 29, 2014.
Appearance: The body exhibits a milky haze with a vibrant amber hue. The head is short and quickly dissipates into a light tan coating with a bubbly ring.
Aroma: The aroma has a sort of rubber, slightly burnt, presence to it. Some citrus and yeast are present, but itís not very appealing. Itís not off-putting though, so thereís that. Itís worth noting that the off-aroma dissipates with time.
Taste: Somewhere between a Belgian pale ale and an IPA there lies Tramp Stamp. The intro is mild with sweet malts, candied orange and a subtle bitterness. Towards the back end I get some yeast and a mild to moderate bitterness. At first it comes off a bit awkward, but it drinks nicely after another sip. Hints of floral notes on the finish complement the beer nicely. I struggle with my rating here, itís decent but I donít particularly love it.
Palate: Full-bodied and slightly more than average amounts of carbonation.
Overall: Full disclosure: I tend to not like Belgian IPAs. That said, I try to keep an open mind and Tramp Stamp doesnít do it for me. The aroma is what bothers me the most, it has a sort of off-putting quality, but over time it mellows a bit and dissipates. I still donít love this, but I think itís a step above many others.
