In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need the undead and trademark attorneys too? Clown Shoes says, "No, die, monsters, die!" Forces of darkness brought about a change in the name of this beer, which was released to celebrate our second anniversary, but it still sports signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory and ash.

Bottle pour to snifter opaque black with large dark tan head. Nose full of roast, dark chocolate, light party smoke, dark fruit. Taste big dark roast up front, followed by decent bitterness. Mid palate sweet, then the dark fruit and chocolate. Maybe a hint of alcohol in the finish. Syrupy mouth.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Opaque, brown-black with a 3-finger light brown head and good lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, figs, raisins and a rotting forest log. Taste of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, dark fruit and molasses. Very rich dessert-like flavor. Full body and low carbonization with rich mouthfeel. A very rich and full imperial stout that is like a rich mocha dessert. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2014 Wow. From a bomber, pours black as can be with a big foamy beige head and huge amounts of lacing. Aroma is a roasted smoky chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, moderate (perfect) sweetness, some bitterness in behind. Balanced. Perfectly balanced. Thick chewy mouthfeel. Alcohol hidden well in the flavor, but I feel it. This is a huge beer. I really wish I could get this in Oregon, but I’m glad to find it when I travel. Awesome beer. I love this one.

Aroma- Dark fruits: plum and dark cherry. Caramel, toffee, coffee, dark chocolate, booze and some smoke. Smell’s like there’s some oatmeal in there, too. Just a touch of band-aid, but in a good way. Taste- Plums, cherry, smoke, and caramel, followed by decadent bittersweet dark chocolate, toffee, and a nice balance of booze. Nice smokey aftertaste. Palate- Thickish, creamy, slightly syrupy. Taste melds with the mouthfeel beautifully! Drying and oily. Smokiness lingers a bit. Overall- I usually drink half of a bomber before sitting down to review, but this time, I only had about a cup left before it even crossed my mind. I loved how the mouthfeel complimented the flavors. I can’t really explain how it did, but they went together wonderfully to me!
