COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need the undead and trademark attorneys too? Clown Shoes says, "No, die, monsters, die!" Forces of darkness brought about a change in the name of this beer, which was released to celebrate our second anniversary, but it still sports signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory and ash.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2014 Wow. From a bomber, pours black as can be with a big foamy beige head and huge amounts of lacing. Aroma is a roasted smoky chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, moderate (perfect) sweetness, some bitterness in behind. Balanced. Perfectly balanced. Thick chewy mouthfeel. Alcohol hidden well in the flavor, but I feel it. This is a huge beer. I really wish I could get this in Oregon, but I’m glad to find it when I travel. Awesome beer. I love this one.

Aroma- Dark fruits: plum and dark cherry. Caramel, toffee, coffee, dark chocolate, booze and some smoke. Smell’s like there’s some oatmeal in there, too. Just a touch of band-aid, but in a good way. Taste- Plums, cherry, smoke, and caramel, followed by decadent bittersweet dark chocolate, toffee, and a nice balance of booze. Nice smokey aftertaste. Palate- Thickish, creamy, slightly syrupy. Taste melds with the mouthfeel beautifully! Drying and oily. Smokiness lingers a bit. Overall- I usually drink half of a bomber before sitting down to review, but this time, I only had about a cup left before it even crossed my mind. I loved how the mouthfeel complimented the flavors. I can’t really explain how it did, but they went together wonderfully to me!

From a bomber to a pint. Pours viscous opaque black with frothy tan head. Nice roasted dark coffee, cocoa, and smokiness on the nose. Similar flavor profile with warm boozy finish... A nice one to sip on a cool evening by the fire. Plus the holy water wards off any undead lurking in the shadows... ;-p.

Bottle from Brewdog Camden. Black as black with a lovely tan head and wonderful lace, nice tight foam. Super oily, cocoa chocolate coffee on the nose - gigantic malt, salty and dark rye bread even? There’s an almost, smoky pulled pork intensity about the flavour, sweetish but nicely balanced bitter finish. Absolutely lovely!

A initial cocoa aroma. Pours black brown with a thick thick dark brown head that grows. A light light chocolate taste with a mild cocoa finish. Excellent long finish to the end of the gladd ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Wow. What a great stout. Poured into a classic pint glass with very little foam. Dark color. Starts off sweet but really blossoms as it warms up a little. I've been refilling when my glass is a bit low to just get the temperature mix right. Coffee notes with smoke and brown sugar. Delicious. Recommended. Easy to drink one bottle to yourself in two hours. - pixels sent via Beer Buddy on iOS

Pours nearly black, think with a big lingering brown head. Aroma is chocolate, multigrain bread, dried cherry. This is thick, chocolatey and warm with a coffe bitterness in the finish.

Pours blacker than a twelve-year midnight with a brown/maroon head. Lots of lace throughout this one. The body is thick and oily, and the aroma is a classic imperial stout. Gigantic malt, bitter chocolate, espresso and alcohol. The flavor is complex and delicious, all the notes of a damn good imperial stout. More of that chocolate and espresso, and anise and dark bread and smokey tones. The availability of beer like this makes it hard to shed tears about how hard it is to find beers like Bourbon County and the like.

Sampled at Boise’s Imperial Stout get together, over 120 bottles to choose from. Going with the flow on this rating. This was one of my contributions to the event.
