COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need the undead and trademark attorneys too? Clown Shoes says, "No, die, monsters, die!" Forces of darkness brought about a change in the name of this beer, which was released to celebrate our second anniversary, but it still sports signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory and ash.

Very roasty, perhaps a little smoky, good body but not great. A little boring, but maybe thatís because Iím having too many imperial stouts.

Bottle, 2012 I think - old enough to still be Vampire Slayer. Pours opaque black, small dark brown head, creamy and slow to dissipate leaving nice lacing behind. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet and light bitter, roasty, a bit burned, notes of cocoa. Medium plus body, lingering bitterness and a creamy mouthfeel. This is a solid straight imply.

bottle. lasting orangeish head. smells of booze, and chocolate. tastes of booze and chocolate too. a lingering cookie note with a a nice cream and coffee flavor after this has been sipped on for an hour or so. a bit thin, but it is 10 percent afterall. burning alcohol is there throughout. chocolate covered cherry booze flavor really lingers toward the end of the glass.

Toasted malt and chocolate aroma that matches this pitch black imperial stout. Smooth on the palate with fruit and chocolate notes and very warming on the aftertaste. Good malt profile pairs with the high alcohol and just enough hops for bittering.

Bottle. Black pour with tan head. Roasted and toasted malt glavors, dry not really any sweet tones. Aromas are similarly dry, with roasted and dark tones.

Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention thanks to Steve. It pours jet black with a small beige head. The nose is rich roast, oily, spicy, earth, umami, chocolate and just a touch of soy sauce. The taste is bitter, rich roast, earth, tar, charred wood, chocolate cake, dark fruits and a touch of alcohol. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Smooth, rich and rather tasty.

No date marking on the bottle.

Appearance: Dark black body with a medium brown creamy head that stays up for a long time. Itís a georgious looking beer.

Aroma: Not much aroma from this beer. I get a hint of some wood and walnuts but itís very faint.

Taste: After drinking this for a bit I thought Iíd mention up front that I donít get any alcohol flavor from this beer which is fantastic for a 10% ABV beer. It has a nice mellow roasted flavor to the beer, some toasted bread crust, and a bit of a coffee-like flavor. Itís enjoyable.

Mouthfeel: Very full bodied, thick, robust, and it coats the mouth like milk. Itís fantastic. Really easy to drink with just a bite of bitterness.

Overall: This was a very enjoyable beer to drink. It wasnít the most flavorful but at the same time it had enough flavor to make it tasty. The real winner is the drinkability of this beer. Itís nice and smooth, and easy to drink. If you like stouts I would recommend it.

Bottle share at Cotteridge Wines. Black, foamy brown head. Aroma is smoke, ashtray, light malt, a little syrupy sweetness. Body is medium, low carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is sweet dark malts, smoked paprika, bitter chili finish. Very good.

24th Jan 2015: shared bottle at the Cotteridge Wine meet, really dark, black in fact, the head a tanned affair. The nose had a spicy chocolate aroma, the taste the same but with a mixed berry fruit flavour also. Interesting finish with a mild smoked feel in the aftertaste.
