In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need the undead and trademark attorneys too? Clown Shoes says, "No, die, monsters, die!" Forces of darkness brought about a change in the name of this beer, which was released to celebrate our second anniversary, but it still sports signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory and ash.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark black with a small tan head. Bitter malt aroma, with a lot of coffee notes, dark chocolate, a bit of smoke, brown sugar, and wood. Taste has more thick sweetness, of brown sugar, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and a hint of smoke. Lingering bittersweet roasted malt. Nice imperial stout!

Bomber into snifter glass, opaque deep dark brown color with very minimal dark tan head. Aroma notes of heavy roasted malt, soy, dark chocolate, smoke, molasses, liquorice and earthy hops. Taste adds coffee, brown sugar, cocoa, cream, some dark fruits and light herbal hop bitterness. Heavy body, low carbonation, creamy, soft, rich with lingering chocolate, earthy roast finish. Wood smoke seems to be more in the aroma, pretty excellent imperial stout.

1 pt. 6 oz. bottle poured at my brother’s place in Methuen, MA. Pours black with a brown head that died quickly. Smelled like the mexican clown shoes I rated the other day, so I was worried. For the record, that was chili powder and chocolate. However, I was pleasantly surprised; it started sweet but had a nice finish of chili and chocolate (as it should be). This beer tells me I need to drink the other one again. I had ice cream before and think it ruined the flavor.

Light smokiness with some roast. Bitter dark chocolate with caramel and some booze, though less than you’d expect. Creamy consistency, very smooth. Good stuff. Tap at Churchkey.

2011 bottle of Vampire Slayer. Pours dark with a nicely defined mocha foam head. The aroma is of lactose sugar, soft smokiness, cocoa, liquorice, and leather. The flavor has a sweet milk sugar taste. In addition to the sugary flavor I noticed a pleasant bitterness, earthy tobacco, some chocolate, a mild roasted taste, hints of possible coffee, and a very soft alcohol flavor in the finish. Overall this was rather good and it aged better than expected. Very drinkable brew.
