In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need the undead and trademark attorneys too? Clown Shoes says, "No, die, monsters, die!" Forces of darkness brought about a change in the name of this beer, which was released to celebrate our second anniversary, but it still sports signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory and ash.

Pours opaque black with three fingers of tan head, excellent retention, heavy chunky lacing. (5/5) Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, boozy cherries. (8/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Full body, low carbonation, off dry and mildly boozy finish. (3/5) A bit of a beast. Fair enough, it’s an imperial, but the ABV is still a bit... "emphatic". Wonder if this would have benefited from more time in the cellar, to let the flavours merge and mellow a bit more. Not unpleasant as such, but a bit heavy-handed perhaps. (15/20)

Pours out a dark brown, on the thinner side, and small khaki head. Aroma of roasted burnt coffee and dark chocolate. Taste was bitter with burnt coffee, dark chocolate, and some dark fruits noted in the background. Filling beer and a sipper for me. Not bad.

Bottle from Hop City, Atlanta. Packaged as Vampire Slayer. Pours a dark black/brown, little bit of brown head, looks like soy sauce. Aroma nice, an almost smoky, roasty character, tobacco, soy sauce, plums. Body thin yet aggressive, finish dried fruity with a bit of a woody bite. Really nice, if not in the top tier of the style.
