Poured this beer from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. It had a thick black color with an above-average sized creamy and slightly foamy tan head that had modest retention, but excellent cling and great lacing. Its aroma had a rich malt presence with strong notes of chocolate along with tones of coffee, molasses, and caramel, along with a grainy hop undertone and notes of wood and dark fruit. The beer had a somewhat sweet taste initially with flavors of chocolate, coffee, light caramel, and a good blend of dark fruit and raisin, that gave way to a bitter grainy effect with a touch of alcohol. It was a fairly wet beer, a touch creamy, with good carbonation and fizz, It was somewhat dry with an alcohol presence at the finish and a dry, but full, mouthfeel.

22 oz bottle from Liquor Kabinet. Black with a light brown head. The aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts, light wood and light smoke. Similar flavor, fairly sweet and creamy, hides the alcohol. Medium body with a soft smooth feel. Good, but slightly underwhelming and little too sweet for me.

Pours mega jet black with a creamy dense dark beige head. The aroma is hard roasted and light smoked with chocolate and dark fruits. The flavor is thick chocolate hard roasted with a sweet vanilla and oaky hint. Sweet roasted finish. Light smoked. I love it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 ounce bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, chocolate, burnt/charred malt, and a bit of coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some molasses, smoked malt and vanilla. Has a good sweet and burnt/roasty flavor overall. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. I think it’s an enjoyable brew, I’d buy it again. $10.49 a bomber.

Bottle from Total wine Sterling. Pours black with a thin khaki head. There’s a lot of lacing in the glass. Lots of cocoa on the nose. Very nice. Robust and roasty on the tongue with a hint of alcohol on the finish. Very nice!

Pours dark brown with a finger of tan head. Aroma is of caramel, hops, and roasted malts. Tastes of roasted malts, bitter, vanilla, caramel, and coffee. Has a nice long taste on the tongue. Clown shoes is top of my list in breweries. They do them all very well.
