Looks like dark blood gone mg into the glass. 1 inch dirty head. The aroma is rich, dark malt with a tinge of sweetness, smokiness, and coffee. The taste is bitter, rich, creamy malt. The palate is a little rough but not overly so. This one just doesn’t hide its alcohol ad well as other really good imperials. It leaves lace rings on the glass. A nice touch. Now lets see what 22ozs. of a 10% vampire slayer can do.

Bomber from Binny’s Arlington Heights. Pours very dark brown to black with tab head that dissipates to a thin tan ring. Aromas of chocolate brownies, roasted malts, some light ash and coffee, and fruity hops. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, some booze, and some hop bitterness. Not getting a lot of smoked malts. Mouthfeel is good as is the carbonation. Solid stout.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jb (1601) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 16, 2012
Very dark, I could not detect a highlight color in the dying sun. Thick foamy tan rocky head. Spotty lacing, more like spots. Nose is dark chocolate, heavily, with a bit of charred malt, and later a bit of dried fruit like cherries. Palate is creamy and rich, very far from bitter, heavy on the chocolate malt, but still it is barely in balance. Decent not great, very drinkable.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 foduck (328) - Denton, Texas, USA - MAY 15, 2012
Deep brownish black. Aroma is licorice, dark malts, hops. Flavor up front is a little sweet cocao followed by an even bitterness. Nothing comletely overwhelms anything else. This is a finely balanced imperial stout that goes down a little too easy.
