Hoppy Feet guy extinguished evil via a sharp stake through an undead chest. Now, Blaecorn Unidragon, full of fury, has expelled another bloodsucker from Earth. We hate vampires, but love Vampire Slayer, which we blended in equal parts with Blaecorn Unidragon, bourbon barrel aging the mix to beget Very Angry Beast.

Note: A blend of bourbon barrel aged Vampire Slayer and bourbon barrel aged Blaecorn Unidragon.

Beer pours jet black with full body appearance. Tan head subsides quickly popping aromas of bourbon, tobacco smoke, chocolate and vanilla upon the nose. Flavor is similar but the smoked half of this blends beer really plays a dominant role in its characteristics. Thick, meaty, bourbony, pork chop in a bottle goodness.

Bottled: 7/18/2013, Sampled: 9/7/2016. Pitch black with a thin tan head. Notes of bourbon hit the nose immediately; aromas of vanilla, dark fruits, tobacco, and booze are front and center. Floating behind them are some chocolate, molasses, & licorice. Arrives on the palate with dark dried fruits (plums, raisins, dates, figs) and then moves onto a boozy, spicy, smoky tobacco middle. Finishes strong, sweet, & astringent with caramel, candied fruits, licorice, chocolate, and even more booze! The fruits and chocolate create a sort of South American coffee flavor thatís subtly bitter & tart. Mouthfeel is flat, thick, and warm with all that alcohol dancing around from start to finish. The warmer it gets, the more bourbon notes get brought out along with those sugary dark fruits; itís very reminiscent of an Old Fashioned/Manhattan cocktail! If you let it sit some more, then the alcohol just keeps dominating. This is a strong ass imperial stout that isnít afraid to show its strength and bourbon barrel qualitiesÖand quite honestly, it tastes and feels like itís at least 3-4% higher than the label states! Delicious and awesome but not an easy drink considering that the alcohol quickly takes over. Regardless, itís a beautiful barrel-aged imperial stout that could trade blows with the likes of Uncle Jacobís.

Review is of an almost three year old botte. Date of bottling was 7/18/13 Pours a pitch black body, head is 1/5th of an inch and sand colored. Head retention was decent and lacing was above average. Aromas are of spicy rye, molasses, light anise, fudge, and alcohol. Barley and a chocolate syrup sweetness comes through as beer warms. Hops arent present, alcohol is definitely there but wouldnt say that its bourbon driven. First taste is mix of peppery alcohol and spices: allspice, anise, even a little cinnamon. Dont know where that is coming from, maybe vampire slayer or the barrel aging. Hints of chocolate appear as beer warms, it tames the 11.5% abv. That being said, whisky is still very apparent after 3 years of aging. Mouthfeel was lush, carbonation levels are good. Head didnt create the ideal mouthfeel but I got some froth out of it. Alcohol stung the palate slightly and warmed the throat. Overall this beer was good but I think my expectations were too high. Blaecorn unidragon is one of my favorite stouts and I was hoping this would be a barrel aged version of that but blending it with another beer and throwing it into a barrel morphed it into something completely unto itself.

Bottle. Apperance is black oil with an inch of mocha head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is vanilla, chocolate, anise, and coffee. Taste is roasted malts, oak, coffee, ash, finishes with bitter coffee roast, light spice with. lots of heat in the back. Body is a bit thin, medium carbonation. Not bad, not a ton of barrel, and the body is a bit thin, gets really tasty once it warms up, good overall.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, lots of roasted malt with smoky notes, touch of brownie, sweet molasses. Taste is big bourbon, oak, roast, and coffee into a bit of ashy smoky notes, quickly replaced by big brownie, molasses, finishing sweet.
