1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - OCT 17, 2003
I would not call this a classic anything, but classic imitation of crap. Does not go anywhere, in any of the categories that I rate, goes down really harsh, and really fast. Finish is sour and bland.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 glider (53) - Shrub Oak, New York, USA - OCT 15, 2003
I didn't like this one - goes flat-tasting real fast and the flovor is just so-so average at best. Typical run-of-the-mill SA brew. Wouldn't recommend it or bring it anywhere.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kmeves (1098) - Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 5, 2003
Definitely the best beer I have ever enjoyed from South America. Noble German hops eveident in the aroma. Nice balance. Good balance, a bit malty for the style. Decent beer.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 PorterPounder (4634) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 12, 2003
Pleasantly surprised - expected another skunky Corona knockoff thanks in part to the painted clear bottle and the locale of the brewery. Kind of a biscuity-malty aroma; appearance was slightly cloudy and an unappealling yellow. Thick mouthfeel which held itself up throughout. Interesting flavor - slightly yeasty, with a good malty undertone. Overall, color me impressed and chalk up another country and the 10th rating of this beer - make or break?
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Aurelius (3457) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 19, 2003
Pretty good cereal malt aroma. Cereal and malt flavor came through in the flavor as well, with a tad of vanilla. Leans a little towards sweet, as with many tropicals. This actually drifts towards having an eastern European malty lager character. Good bottlefeel from the squat bottle. Uh oh. Looks like Saddam just ran out of time...
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 vwsteggie (684) - Paxton, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 28, 2003
I got this from Senor Diego at work... Anyway it has a slightly cloudy golden/orange color with moderate carbonation and a sweet honey malt smell. Taste is kind of watered down malt and finishes pretty flat. Overall this was not my kind of pilsener mostly because of the lack of a crisp finish.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Nuffield (3362) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - DEC 29, 2002
Vigorous, frothy head, slightly above average color for a lager. More noticeable lager aroma, too, being buttery at times. The flavors returned to expectations, with artificial elements. It smoothens out a bit, but it is still a poor beer to drink for any reason other than a new country to rate.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jazz88 (2471) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 19, 2002
Bottle. Light golden yellow with a fair head. Nut malt flavor with a nice refreshing aroma. What a shock!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 22, 2002
Very pale golden color with little head and no lace. Slightly sour bitter malt aroma with a hint of hops. Crisp malt flavor, slightly sour with a hint of hops. light bodied and smooth.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 joet (1925) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - JUN 10, 2002
Nutty, grassy, creamy buttery deep golden. This is much more than the average latin lager.
