2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Typical pilsner aroams with corn and cereal highlights. Cereal, corn, malt, and bread notes. A bland ting from the hops. Light in body with a below a stage mouthfeel. Pretty much your typical Latin American pilsner style beer.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottled 330cm3. -Yellow/golden coloured, small white head, mild corn in the nose. Malty and mild hoppy with evident maize presence. Short and quite tasteless bitterish finish. Weak as I’ve expected but new country is new country.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Lots of skunk with is one. Preferred pilsner to this. No hop, malt liquor flavor.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
I dont know, everyone says this is miles ahead of pilsener, but its really not very good. Perhaps without the green bottle; the aroma was all skunk every time I tried it. True, the taste is fuller, more rich malt than the bland adjunct funk of pilsener, but its far from a good brew.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle drank at Guayaquil International Airport Jose Joaquin de Olmedo. This one pours the typical clear pale lager color. However it shows a surprisingly clean herbal smell giving way to maltier hints. Notes of mint, apples, pineapple, fresh green leaves and dough. Clean herbal taste, slightly watery but perfect for what it is. It reminds me of a fresh Stella Artois. This one is a fine commercial lager from Ecuador, miles away from the bland Cerveza Pilsener. It can hold its own against most european examples of the style.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
The best ecuadorian beer, typical macro brewery lager, golden, lot of carbonation, not head retention all, but it is drinkable, way better than Pilsener.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was only available in some of the better restaurants in Ecuador, but I don’t see why. It was a little bitter, and kind of skunky. I had this on a cross country bus, so I might have been sitting around for awhile. All in all I liked the more popular brand, Pilsener, better.
That said, I had this after having our bus stopped by a bunch of strikers in the middle of the night, and it did help calm my nerves....

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
The best Ecuadorian mainstream brand... Not that that says much. Compared to Pilsener, it’s got a slightly richer, fuller taste but also more carbonation, the kind that is to your mouth like a very loud, nasal girl’s voice is to your ears.
