33cl Bottle from a nightshop at St. Veerleplein in Gent. Deep dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, some roasted malts, toast, burnt caramel. Flavour is medium-sweet, hint of roast, wood, toast, burnt caramel, a bit dusty, bitter-sweet finish. Smells nice, but doesn’t taste that good imo. Medium-bodied at best.

Thick beige head, very even over deep burgundy to brown, clear beer. Very perfumey nose, praliné chocolate, coloured but not-bitter malts; pastry, noisette, also wild mushrooms. Bitter/roasted with a sweet, perfumey underbuild. Again nutty, confiserie chocolates. Point of bitter chocolate retronasal. Warming up, the flavour also gets a stamp as from wild mushrooms ( trompettes de la mort). Overcarbonated, fizzy MF. Quite slick, rather well-bodied. Can’t get the oak. Got some very perfumey, nearly forced flavours instead.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers, BB 13/09/2014. This beer rocks!

20/III/2012 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 13/IX/14 (2012-248)

Clear dark red brown beer, big aery light beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: overripe to rotten fruits, a lot of band-aid, banana, dusty, sugar, some caramel. MF: too much carbon, medium body. Taste: sour start, sweet malts, banana, caramel, some milk chocolate. Aftertaste: little sour, citrus fruits, dark chocolate, hop bitterness, touch of mocha. If you can get past the smell, then the beer grows on you while drinking. Better if it gets warmer.
