When my friend Michel K. bottled this beer, it was just called "Kriek" by Louis Cnudde. Mix of his brown ale, and the wild-fermenting cherrywine in the cellar...Anyway, this dates from the end of the eighties...
Fully hazy red-brown, no head to speak of. Sweet impression, with condensed fruitaromas, bit of almondy from the stones, and already some oxydation (!). Very tart, frutiy, woody as nothing else, peppery-oaky, and deep-deep old cherries. And a few oxydation notes, oxydated walnutoil. Oxydation and age have made this lighter than it was. A superb blend. But then you ought to try the unmixed contents of the cherry fermenters...

The Fonefan/Brugmansia Cnudde tasting. Courtesy of Fonefan/Brugmansia. Dark mahogany from party fass. The aroma is sourish with notes of malt and berries. The flavour is sourish with notes of spices, berries, malt and light sweetness. The sourness is in no way sharp, so it should be pleasant for the big majority. It’s nice and has more body than the Oudenards Bruin.
