3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 50belair (1385) - Florida, USA - NOV 24, 2012
On tap at One Pint. Auburn/brown pour with little to no head. Malty aromas. Light vinegar and cherry notes are overrun by the big malt characteristics. A little thin and watery. I would say it’s more along the lines of a sour bruin / Flanders’ Red.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 shoulderbroken (1172) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAR 10, 2012
Bottle at home. Dark amber colour with bubbly beige head. Aroma is yeasty, buttery, but marzipan, bit fruity, floury and quite sweet and quite fragrant. Taste is dark fruity, just a hint of sourness, bit quite sweet too, caramelly malt. Bit butterscotch, and quite soft in the mouth. Have to say I really quite like it. Never tasted anything else like it.

(25cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye bb Nov 2010) clear watery (tea-like) brown with tiny white bubbles that are sparse. Nose of caramel, reminds of a Kvass, sugary, cardboard, very light berry. Taste of light caramel, papery, raw grain, light blueberry, reminds me of a soda a bit, very dry finish that’s also watery.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tderoeck (3057) - Gent, BELGIUM - FEB 28, 2012
22/II/2012 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a (no markings on side of bottle to indicate a date) (2012-153)
Clear dark brown beer, small off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of sweetened yoghurt, red fruits, raspberry candy. Mf: good carbon, light body. Taste: sour yoghurt, raspberries, bit metallic, little sweet, lemon zest. Aftertaste: bitter, sour dairy, metallic. Not bad, per se, but pretty weird though.
